"Dearest are you done yet we need to make haste" My mama told me. Today I will make my debut into society. To be honset i believe it is not necessary because no man has ever had to wear a huge feather on their head that is very close to breaking their necks then judged by everyone in the ton finally the queen decides if you are good enough. But my mama is understanding and let me take a year off before i enter my first season.
"Yes mama I'm nearly ready we won't be late I promise! I just need to get this ridiculous feather on my head." I hate this already
In the carriage
" Blair I know how nervous you are I was aswell starting my first season. Look how my life turned out to be !" My sister Grace came back to London for the new season and to help me. It was nice to see her because she was away taking care of her children.
"Gracie your first season was you last season."
"True sister but I am lucky to find true love during my first season but it could take multiple seasons to find true love but i believe that everyone has a soulmate they just aren't always looking at the right person" Grace told me
" Wow when did you get this passionate about love Gracie" I teased her
"Well finding love made me passionate"
"Blairrrr I missed you so much" Nora clunged onto. I giggled and hugged her back. "I saw you last week and we have been writing almost everyday
My closest friend is Nora Deanington she is my best friend ever. We've been inseparable sence we were four years old we always go to the modiste together. Even though i hate how society is so sexist i will always love how beautiful the dresses are.
Me and Nora linked arms our families behind. "Have you seen El Nora ? I'm sure she is stressing as much as we are." I asked Nora I was a bit worried about El because she had told us about the situation with the queen and finding Lady Whistledown. Also she feels alot of pressure because of her sister Daphne being the diamond of the first water
"No i haven't seen her Blair don't worry we will find her. Oh nevermind I see her"
"We rushed towards her. Hello Violet! How have you been?" I asked her giving her a hug. I love Violet so much she is the sweetest and I love talking to her when me, Nora and our mothers went to the bridgertons for afternoon tea.
"I'm great darling how have you been i know how stressful your first season is. If you need any help just tell me."
"Thank you so much Violet" Nora hugged Violet
I was walking to Eloise to give her a hug but i walked into someone. "I am so sorry sir that was my fault completely I wasn't looking where I was going." I looked up to see who i bumped into. "Hello Blair Its ok it wasn't your fault."
"Hello Anthony I'm sorry again. How havr you been?" I ask him. Me anf Anthony have always been friendly towards eachother.
"I've been alright but the countryside was refreshing aswell as not seeing the ton watching my every move."
" Well the ton will akways judge eachother. Oh I need to speak to Eloise. I'll see you soon Anthony bye." I tell him spoting Eloise in the crowd
"Bye Blair see you soon!" He yelled at me.
"Oh El i missed you so much" I hugged her and she hugged me back. "I missed you to Blair." She whispered in my ear. "Nora!" Eloise shouted " Hey El i missed you so much" they hugged and we all went inside
"Miss Blair Maliginton presented by her mother Duchess Maliginton" the doirs opened and i saw the queen. Me and mama walked up to the queen and bowed. The queen stood up lifted my chin and said
"So graceful well done" I smiled at her got up and smiled to my mother. " Mama she called me graceful" I looked at my family and the grinned at me. " Yes she did darling but more people will be watching you now.
El's presentation was cut short due to Lady Whistledown. But she is glad she didn't have to face the queen. Nora did great the queen called her beautiful!
We all sat in my sitting room usually we would go to the bridgertons but my mama wanted to have a dinner with all of us.
"So how do you feel about Lady Whistledown ?" Penelope wasn't with us earlier which was odd but her mama must of kept her with her.
"I think it was interesting how her new edition talked about all of us." Nora said while eating grapes " I think it's brilliant not what she writes but how a women did it. She went against society's rules which I applause and without getting caught!" I say in admiration.
"Yes I agree with you Blair and her interrupting my presentation was great but I am worried the queen wishes to find Whistledown I need to warn her." Eloise says
"El how are you going to do that if you don't know her identity?" Nora asks.
"She has a point El how are we going to find out who she is?" I asked her.
"Im not sure yet but i will soon enough" I could tell that Eloise was very determine to find out how Lady Whistledown was.
"You've been awfully quiet pen what do you think?" Nora asked her. In truth i wasn't as close to pen as Eloise and Nora were.
"I think El is lucky that her presentation got interrupted but her writing is good." Penelope said
" But Pen she could do so much more with her writing. Instead of the gossip what about how women can be so much more then wives!" El said
"True El but the gossip is what people started reading her work for. Maybe if she continues writing about gossip and occasionally women's rights then people would be more engaged." I told her.
"Girls dinner is ready!" My mama told us "Ok mama we will go down soon. Thank you!" I told her. "Let's go shall we." I said
