"Can i tell u a secret?"
I had been inlove with this boy for so long,
It felt like forever.
Had been through ups and downs together.
Went through hell and back, together.
Until one night, reality came crashing down.
It all went downhill, that we couldnt pass.
The mountain wouldn't budge.
The ocean wouldn't part.
The bridge came crashing down.
We weren't able to survive.
Together.
Went separate ways from there.
Navigated thru darkness, alone.
Kept flapping my arms to stay afloat.
Until a hand reached down.
I took his hand, hoping it was him.
But it belonged to a different man.
I looked around,
Searched the entire premises for him.
There he was, catching his breath
Didn't bother to look around.
To search, for me.
A snap brought me back from daze.
I was met with an unfamiliar gaze.
A set of eyes, incomparable to the deepest ocean.
Look too long, and you'll drown.
The intensity was too much to handle.
Its aura exudes too much coldness,
In contrast to the warmth i felt in its line of sight.
I got too caught up with what's infront of me,
I didn't noticed the storm brewing in the horizon.
So caught up with the continous flow of waves,
That I've forgotten how to ride it.
To sway with its movement.
To dance in its rhythm.
I lost track of what was happening.
"So what's the secret?"
The secret is, I wasnt brave enough.
That i was a coward, wrapped in regret.
I got too caught up that I lost everything.
I lost him.
I lost that unfamiliar man.
I lost me.
I should've looked at the ocean,
With all its pride and glory.
Now i couldn't look at it the same way before.
