Cinder

Grease and stains covered me.
Bolts and nuts scattered around.
Bodies of androids hung limply beyond.
Artificial hands and legs lying around.

Pulling my working gloves to my wrist.
Trying to hide my metal hand beneath.
I looked around the city square.
All eyes were looking, but not at me.

I felt so small in their judging looks.
Feeling so different with each passing glance.
Just wanted to curl up like a ball.
Hide and disappear like a wasp.

Prostheses made up my left hand and legs.
I was human but treated as not.
For my metal parts and calculating eyes;
Betrays me. Betrays every skin I had left.

I know I'm not normal. And never will be.
I wasn't accepted and welcomed.
Always greeted with disgusted faces,
And those scornful looks.

Another repitition of my day at the market.
When a prince visited me.
In his gray hoody and disheveled hair.
My eyes lit up with awe and surprise.

Pulse sky rocketed upward.
Control panel flashed warning before her eyes.
Temperature's rising and my stomach was flipping.
Filling my lungs with air, I calmed down and smiled.

A royal android needed my attention.
Just a mere repair for a twisted fate.
He then became attached with me.
Stolen moments and shared laughters.

Days passed by in a flash.
A dreadful news haunted me from the past.
The Queen of Luna appeared;
With her hideous smile and cruel lips.

A glamour of beauty, it is.
In just a blink of an eye,
She could control you.
And she could easily own you.

For the gifts of Luna
Was a blessing and a curse.
They can make you obey,
And  can make you go away.

Horror struck me when the queen announced her proposal.
A marriage in exchange of peace and freedom,
For both Earthens and Luna.
A forthcoming death, cloaked with deceitful surprise.

The night of the ball came.
I arrived, drenched in cold rain water.
Walking down the grand staircase.
All eyes were on me.

Murmurs and gasps filled the air.
My hair tousled up in every direction.
Silver gown wrinkled and torn.
Boots thumping hard, sounds echoing inside.

But my heart stammered,
Eyes focused on my prince.
Eager to warn him.
To save him from his enevitable demise.

We were dancing and twirling.
Despite of the chaos swirling around.
But then the music stopped!
Dread filled us both, as the queen appeared.

Laughing menacingly at us.
She purred venomously.
Cooing the prince to her side.
Pulling me and my prince apart.

Thunderous voice filled the room.
As the queen unleashed her wrath.
Telling her guards to apprehend me.
To kill me, the girl that would damn her reign and power in Lunar.

Shock registered in me as well as my prince's eyes
I was the missing princess of Lunar.
The rightful heir to the throne.
Royal blood flowed within my veins.

Running away as quickly as I can.
Dumbly falling over the stairs.
Dettaching my artificial legs.
Crying and winced in pain, as I toppled over below.

How pathetic it is.
I, Cinder, a cyborg of Earth. The princess of Lunar. An outcast. And unwanted.
World be damned, for I am scared as you.
World be damned, for he chose her.
