Nick Dylan

"A pair of beautiful eyes, my heart revolving around hers like it was meant to be there.

She tiptoed inside my life, as it never had that knock before.
For the first time in my life, I was willing to open the door and that was all for her.

Like, how am I supposed to refuse a guest like her inside my home?
I let her get inside, hoping she would light up my walls with the glitter in her smile.

That was the moment I knew she was the one.
I locked my doors to secure her from that cruel world and let her be safe inside my home.
That was what I was supposed to do.

But what did I do?
I ruined her home instead."

"Nick.... Hey buddy! Can we finalize this design?"
"Yes, this is it. Send me the other copy. See you later!" I said taking a glimpse at my watch.

"I'm already late... Damn!", I
murmured and left the cabin. "Where are you going, buddy? The meeting is in the next two hours," I heard Aaron while rushing towards me.

"This is more important. I'm already late....," I replied in a hurry.
"I know where you are going, but Nick... You will be late. It's urgent! We can't let this deal get out of our hands," he said trying to convince me.

I paused on my way saying, "Then, cancel it", and I pressed the button on the elevator and got inside leaving Aaron in his usual 'Ok fine' look.

I'm Nick Dylan, 28 years old, the younger son of James Dylan and Emily Dylan. And the CEO of "Dylan Associates," the leading Architect Company of the New York City.
My Dad was an Interior Designer and then he started this Company years ago. Despite being an heir to his business, I never shared good relations with him. Mom wanted me to be a lawyer like hers, but having really catchy eyes on buildings, blocks, and designs, I shifted to architecture.

Talking about my big brother, Shawn Dylan, one of the most renowned surgeon in the country. No doubt, he was good at treating pain giving them more of it.

Kidding!

Coming back to me, I joined my dad's company after completing my studies in architecture and then got stuck here for life. Gradually, I started loving my work and this place because nothing else is left for me to care about anymore. And now, it's been 8 years since I was hooked to this company.

I think I forgot one person here; Aaron Parker, my buddy, my secret keeper and someone who annoys the shit out of me but also keeps my life on track. He is my best friend and the Chief Finance Officer of Dylan Associates. We are childhood friends but he joined my Company as a CFO after completing his Masters in Business Administration. I offered him this post because no body else seemed superior. He is best at what he does.

"Hello, beautiful lady!" I said excitedly taking Mary in a tight hug.
"Hello Handsome! Everything is ready," she replied, hugging me back. Mary is a middle-aged woman, probably a little more than my mom's age. She runs a cafe with a small flower shop outside it, as she loves being around nature and connecting people with it. After getting out of the office, I drove to her cafe.

I took the bouquet from her hand and kissed her on the cheek. "I see. My son is happy today. Are you going on a date?" she smiled back.
"C'mon Mary! Do I really need a date when you are around me? Girls just get jealous of you," I blinked at her mockingly.

She hit me back on my shoulder, suppressing her wrinkled yet beautiful smile. "Stop teasing! And answer my question, Who is this lucky girl liking lily flowers?"
