Perfection or No Perfection ?

"Beth!" I said coming down the stairs. I rushed over to the kitchen.
"In the laundry room darling" Beth called out.
I went straight there.
"My friend is coming over like in half an hour could you prepare us some snacks please" I asked her.
"Sure darling and why is Austin, James or Shane coming over?" She asked
"No Beth it is someone else" I said
Her eyes shot up in surprise
"A new friend as in a guy" she said
"Yea" I raised an eyebrow at her teasing tone.
"Oh my little girl is growing up" she gushed
"Beth, he is a friend nothing more nothing less" I said.
"Hey" A voice said from behind me.

Oh shoot !

"Oh Hi Nate who let you in?" I said eyeing him he was holding a box
Which was securely packed by a warping sheet.

" Is it the first question you ask you guest Eve?" Beth said from behind me.
She forward to greet him.
"Oh Nate this is Beth my nanny, mommy and my favorite person in the whole world" I said.

"Hi mam nice to meet you" He smiled and put out his hand
Beth pulled him into a hug.
"Oh darling call me Beth" Beth said squeezing the life out of him poor guy literally became breathless
"Umm Beth you can let him go now" I said trying to hide my smile.
"This is for you Beth" He said to her breathing hard and offering her the brownies he got.
"Nate I thought I invited you" I said.
"Well eve I saw a more prettier lady sorry next time" He smiled cheekily
"Wow charmer" I said
"Come on lets head up" I said heading up the fight of stairs.
He followed me upstairs. I opened the door and gestured him to come inside. He observed the room his eyes fell upon my timeline of pictures I had a whole wall dedicated to that. He intently looked at it many emotions could be seen on his face sadness happiness longing and adoration.

"Nate you alright there" I asked him snapping him out of his trance.
"Oh yeah, nice room" He said smiling.
"OK lets head out" I said.
"Eve wait" He said
"Yeah" I said as i turned around.
"Before we start proving lets make a deal if you prove perfection we do the English project your style and if I prove you wrong we do it my style" He said
"Okay fine with me" I said.
I am going to win anyways let him think of it he can win.
"Why don't you go down I'll meet you in a minute" I said.
I left for my art studio got my painting covered it and headed down.
"OK Nate lets go" I said heading out the back door
"It's a little bit inside the forest" I said as I cleared some of the leaves by hands.
" Eve let me carry that" He said pointing at my painting.
"No no it's fine I can carry it fine" I said
"Eve give it" he looked at me like he was not giving up.
"Fine but no peaking and take care of it" I said.
We walked for about ten minutes in silence enjoying the rustle of the leaves and sounds of the birds.
"Eve"
"Yea"
"You are not going to kill me here are you?"
I rolled my eyes.
"Nate if i wanted to I would have done it somewhere else"
"Good to know this place is too good for me to be killed here oh joy" He said laughing.
We reached the lake here was built out special wooden cabin. It was made by me and Ty. Actually the paid architecture which came from the best places. Well nonetheless it is perfection. He gave me the painting I opened it and put it on the rock from where I made it.
"Voila" I said.
He stood there in awe looking at the perfection well it is a beauty to adore.
I smiled,to myself poor guy.
I heard a faint laughing noise.
I looked at him confused. Why is he laughing ? I looked at him closely.

"Nate are you alright?" I said
"I am but are you sure this is perfection?" He asked
"Yea definitely no doubts" I said determined.
"Okay then here see this the strokes you put here are wrong and so is the shade of this tree and the cabin has a defect in the architecture. You see it had points where it is slightly made of more length then it should have been" I observed what he was saying and my mouth hung open. It was like I couldn't comprehend all this time I was wrong about perfection ?

"Eve Eve !" He said waving his hand in front of my face
"Yeah I am fine" I said
" So that means you loose I win" I looked at him too scared to accept defeat but I had no choice.
"Yea" I mumbled
"What Eve I can't hear you" He put a hand on his ear pretending he didn't hear.
"You win I loose" I shouted
He laughed and started doing a stupid silly dance. It funny I actually cracked a smile being angry is not my thing.
He was dancing near the lake I went there slowly and pushed him hard.
He lost balance and fell right in.
I laughed so hard. He resurface and looked like a total idiot with leaves covering his head. He made his way out and headed for me before he could even think of throwing me I ran at full speed towards my house he was hot on my heels but I made it safe. He was just about to reach me.
When Beth came in
"Oh MY GOD ! What happened? " she shrieked.
"Eve" She looked at me sternly I put my hands up in surrender.
"Show him to the bathroom" Beth said.
Beth scurried away to get him a towel we both shared a look and laughed.
"Come on " I said to him and showed him to my bathroom.
Beth handed him the towel and he went inside. I plopped on my bed and looked at my ceiling. Loosing feels strange I turned my head and saw all my trophies topper best in everything. Still not perfect if this this is not perfection then what is ?
"Ahmm ahmm" somebody cleared their throat. I looked up from my bed
"Aaaa !" I shouted and covered my face. I just saw Nate in nothing but a towel.
"Nate you could at least be decent innocent eyes here" he laughed
"Not my fault you didn't give me anything to wear" He said
"You could have asked idiot" I mumbled.
I went over to my cupboard ignoring him not looking once in his direction.

"Eve I don't wear girl clothes" he said.
I threw him some clothes. They are Ty's clothes I rolled my eyes.

He changed and came back to the room. He looked cute Ty's clothes fitted him loosely and his hair were damp tossed around.
Before I could say anything
"Kids come get some snacks" Beth called from downstairs.
We both headed down snacks were there on the table in the living room.
We both sat down slowly getting some of Beth's freshly baked biscuits and the brownies Nate had gotten from his home.
I put the first bite of brownie in my mouth "Mmm... Nate these are amazing" I said they melted in my mouth.
"Thank you" he said
"Who made them?" I asked
"I did" he said nervously. I looked at him in shock.
"You can cook?" I asked
"Yea a little bit"
"That's amazing Nate"
We ate in silence for a while just enjoying the brownies they were the best ones I have ever had.
"I have to go now Eve" He said getting up and picking his jacket.
" But why so soon" I asked feeling sad.
"Well I have work, I'll pick you up tomorrow?" He said
I looked at him confused
"We are going somewhere for the project remember the deal?" He said
"Yeah okay but where are we going" I asked
"To meet some of my favorite people" He said
Okay I'll wait then good bye take care" I waved to him as he walked out the door and got on his bike.
I closed the door and went upstairs.

He is something else now where will he take me ? No one knows what tomorrow brings right.

I went in the comfy bed and welcomed the darkness as my eyes closed.
