A few days later, the Indian Cricket Team prepared for their upcoming match against the US. The team was practicing diligently in the stadium, with Abhishek and his teammates focused on perfecting their strategies. Ishika watched from the sidelines, sketchbook in hand, her eyes following Abhishek's every move.
Shubman approached Abhishek, panting slightly after a sprint. "Hey, Abhay, you've got quite the fan club over there," he teased, nodding towards Ishika.
Abhishek glanced over at Ishika, who smiled and waved. He waved back, a grin spreading across his face. "Yeah, she's pretty great," he said, his voice softening.
Yashasvi joined them, catching his breath. "You two seem close," he observed. "Anything you want to share with the class?"
Abhishek chuckled, shaking his head. "Just focus on your game, Yashasvi. Don't worry about my personal life."
Meanwhile, Ishika continued to sketch, capturing the intense energy of the practice session. Anushka joined her, carrying two cups of coffee. "How's the sketch coming along?" she asked, handing Ishika a cup.
"It's coming together," Ishika replied, taking a sip. "Watching them practice gives me so much inspiration."
Anushka glanced at Abhishek and then back at Ishika, a knowing smile on her lips. "You know, he seems really happy whenever he looks at you."
Ishika blushed, lowering her gaze. "It's... complicated," she admitted. "But he's amazing. I just hope everything works out."
Anushka patted her on the shoulder. "I'm sure it will. Just give it time."
As the practice session continued, Abhishek took a brief break and jogged over to Ishika. "Hey, how's the sketch?" he asked, peeking over her shoulder.
Ishika showed him her progress. "What do you think?" she asked, her eyes meeting his.
"It's incredible," Abhishek said, genuinely impressed. "You have such a talent."
Ishika beamed at the compliment. "Thanks, Abhay. You're pretty talented yourself, you know."
Abhishek laughed. "Let's hope that talent shows in the match against the US. We need to bring our A-game."
Ishika nodded, her expression turning serious. "I'll be cheering for you. Always."
Abhishek's heart swelled with affection as he looked at her. "That's all the motivation I need," he said softly before heading back to join his teammates.
As the day of the match approached, the bond between Abhishek and Ishika continued to grow, strengthened by the shared moments of encouragement and support. Despite the pressures and expectations of the game, they found solace in each other's presence, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, both on and off the field.
Virat saw the two talking and felt a mix of emotions. Protective of his sister but also understanding of her happiness, he decided to approach them.
"Hey, Abhishek, Ishika," Virat called out as he walked over, his tone casual but his eyes sharp.
Abhishek straightened up, sensing the shift in the atmosphere. "Hey, Virat," he greeted, trying to keep his tone neutral.
"Hi, Bhai," Ishika said, smiling at her brother. "We were just talking about the match."
Virat nodded, his gaze flicking between them. "I can see that. Just remember, Abhishek, you have a big game ahead. Don't get too distracted."
Abhishek met Virat's gaze, understanding the underlying message. "I know, Virat. My focus is on the game. Ishika and I were just catching up."
Ishika looked between the two men, sensing the tension. "Bhai, don't worry. Abhishek is dedicated to the team. We're just friends."
Virat's expression softened slightly. "I know, Ishika. I just want to make sure both of you understand the importance of the upcoming match. The team is counting on everyone to give their best."
Abhishek nodded earnestly. "Absolutely, Virat. I won't let anything get in the way of my performance."
Virat clapped Abhishek on the shoulder. "Good. Let's all stay focused and give it our best shot."
As Virat walked away, Ishika sighed in relief. "He's just looking out for us," she said softly.
Abhishek nodded. "I get it. He's a good brother."
Ishika smiled. "Yeah, he is. And he's right. Let's focus on the match and make sure we win."
Abhishek grinned. "With you cheering us on, how can we lose?"
The practice session resumed with renewed energy, the players driven by their shared goal. Ishika continued to sketch, capturing the essence of the team's spirit and determination. Despite the earlier tension, she felt a sense of calm and certainty. No matter what challenges lay ahead, they were all in this together, united by their love for the game and for each other.
