Hi! I'm Persephone. Long name, I know, but I really don't mind being named after a goddess.
Of the underworld!! Muahahaha!!!
Kat! Shush! Sorry, my friend is pretty bad at keeping quiet.
Hmmph. Just write your stupid chapter.
Ahem. So, I guess I should start with the museum incident...It was a cloudy day, and I was staring out the window of an old, puttering school bus. Our class was on its way to the Museum of History for our project on ancient Egypt. I know, this sounds like a Rick Riordan book, but I promise you it's nothing like that, so don't sue us. This actually happened to us.
Anyway, I got dizzy from staring outside so long, so I turned around to look at my classmates. There was Kat, sitting beside me and muttering some sort of prayer to Satan so that the bus would crash, as she tousled her golden ash hair. Her blue-grey eyes closed as she focused all of her energy into making the bus crash. I saw Crystal roll her indigo eyes, silently mimicking Kat and teasing her blonde hair, wildly shaking her head so that her purple streaks flew beautifully. Then there was Heather, who was laughing at the whole ordeal. Her brown eyes twinkled and I could see strands of her black hair slightly drifting in the breeze from the open window.
I looked back to Ember, who nervously smiled back. I could see her hazel eyes filled with rare uncertainty. I knew she was scared of crashing, so Kat wasn't really helping.
"KAT! You know Ember has a phobia of crashing in vehicles, right?"
"Mrmrmrmeemlamp posssst..."
"KAT! You-"
I didn't finish my sentence. The bus suddenly shook and came to a screeching halt. Everyone screamed, except for Kat, who was laughing. Ember shrieked and curled up into a little ball, which just made Kat laugh harder. The principal, Mr. Eltson, stood up an cleared his throat. "Children, we have arrived. Disembark in an orderly fashion." He eyed Kat and the others before finally glaring at me. "If anyone causes mischief in the museum, I shall personally appoint you to the position of Student Counsellor Assistant...." I groaned. Student Counsellor Assistant was major punishment. You had to listen to the counsellors ramble on about their own life problems.
"One last note," Mr. Eltson said as we all evacuated the bus. "No one is to leave the premises without my permission." A black haired girl smirked at us. She winked her make-up heavy eyes through her side-swept pink strands, placing her hands on her hips. "Yes, Mr Eltson! I'll look out for anyone causing trouble..." Monica sneered.
Kat slumped her shoulders and muttered something about how she was going to crash the bus on the way home.We entered the museum. The tall walls were decorated with plaques and signs with information on every section in the building. A friendly guide waved his arm and introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Mr. Barkley, but you can call me Fred. I will be your guide through this magical tour of history and culture." Fred twirled around awkwardly, but he still got a few laughs anyway. We started following him through the many exhibits. Ancient Egypt, ancient America, Ancient Greece, and many more.
Ancient Grease? Gross.
Ugh, Kat, you are so not funny. Anyway, after a bunch of lectures on history, we were allowed to explore the Museum of History, but a dark corridor with a sign "Medieval Times: Coming Soon!" was off limits. Sounded interesting, and Kat could probably get us there. "Do you guys want to go to Medieval?" I suggested. Kat smiled and pulled out her phone. She activated the flashlight and started walking. Ember, now acting more like herself, giggled and ran after Kat."Crystal and Heather both glanced at each other and silently slumped their shoulders
"I suppose we could..." Heather grunted as Kat followed her phone to a thick small metal door. "Age before beauty!" Kat smiled, shoving Ember in. Crystal and Heather followed her, and Kat skipped inside. I walked in and shut the door behind me. "Found the control panel!" Kat called out. The room was suddenly filled with an orange glow.Stoney towers, velvet gowns, and majestic scenery suddenly appeared before me. The murals on the walls depicted towns, churches, and great castles. I gasped at the beauty of it all. Crystal sighed and began admiring the beautiful paintings on display, as Heather climbed a tall hollow tower in the corner. "I'm the king of the castle!" she called down. Kat, obviously, ran over to the dungeon section filled with torture devices.
I couldn't help myself. I practically floated over to a whole section about knights and battles. This may sound pretty cheesy, but I've always loved the idea of putting on shining armour and riding into battle....
HI HOOOO SIR PERSEPHONE!!
Shut up, Kat! *sigh* ...Anyways, I ran my hand over a beautiful crest sewed onto a saddle, as my eyes surveyed the giant wall adorned with various swords from different knights. Unfortunately, it was very difficult to see the weapons behind the blurry, dirty glass.
"What's this do?" I snapped my attention back to Ember, who leaned over the a strange-looking control panel that Kat had used to turn on the lights. She fiddled with a few buttons.
"WHOA!" Heather nearly fell off of the tower as a cardboard dragon popped up behind her. Kat squealed with joy as one of the strange looking torture devices began to move, and Crystal raised her eyebrows as the glass standing between her and the paintings vanished.
I turned back to the wall of swords. That smeared glass was gone. I could see the swords clearly, and they were magnificent. Ruby hilts, wooden hilts, golden hilts and more. Intricate etchings on the blades depicting scenes of battle, creatures, crests, and floral patterns. One sword, hanging ever so perfectly, caught my eye. Its shining, smooth blade tinged with blue reflected my wonder-struck face, and the beautiful hilt was a swirl of pure white ebony. Hypnotized by its beauty, I reached my hand out to touch it....
...and suddenly, a voice scathed my ears like acid.
"Naughty, naughty girls!"
