Ashar's P.O.V

I walked to the kitchen after showering. Ahana's back greeted me.

"Good morning." I greeted getting her attention.

"Good morning." She smiled at me and gestured to the dining table.

I sat down and she placed oats and a cup of coffee in front of me. She sat down with her breakfast as well.

I took a sip of my coffee and saw her wince from my peripheral vision. "What's wrong?"

"Isn't your coffee bitter? No sugar? Seriously?"

I smiled, "What about your coffee?"

"It has lots of sugar obviously. I like my coffee sweet." She gloated sipping her own drink.

"Ofcourse." I chuckled.

"What is that supposed to mean? I can drink black coffee too."

I raised any eyebrow and offered her my cup. I saw the hesitance on her face but she still accepted it.

I watched her place the cup on her lips and take a small sip. Her face immediately contoured and she gagged.

"That is so bad! Why would you drink that?"

I laughed as she sipped her own drink hastily. I took my cup back and toasted her. She frowned at me cutely.

"You should stick to your own sugary coffee."

"I will! Yours is like drinking medicine. On purpose!"

I stood up and placed my empty dishes in the sink and grabbed my phone and wallet.

Ahana stood up and walked me to the door, "Good bye and take care. Don't forget about the dinner at my aunt's place." She said smiling at me.

I can get used to this.

"I'll be home by seven. We can leave by eight. See you in the evening." I hesitated for a moment and then bent down to place a kiss on her forehead.

Surprised she reached up to touch the spot and look at me. Smiling I waved and left.

Perhaps being married isn't so bad.

Ahana's P. O. V

It was already six in the evening so I decided to start getting ready for the dinner. My aunt is hosting this big dinner as my cousin is here to visit. Everyone is invited and it's the first event me and Ashar are attending together.

I took a shower and dressed in a maroon coloured Anarkali. It was a gift from my other aunt. I was doing my hair when I heard the front door open.

"Ahana?"

"In the bedroom." I answered and Ashar walked in.

"Welcome home." I smiled at him.

"I'll go shower."

As he went to shower, I opened our closet and took out a shirt. I cautiously placed it on the bed silently hoping.

I tied my hair in a simple style, just braiding the front hair and tying it in the back leaving the rest open. I started applying makeup and Ashar came out.

He noticed the shirt and looked at me questioningly.

"Ah. I thought, perhaps, if it's okay with you, we could match?"

"Sure." He picked up his clothes and went to change. I smiled and continued getting ready.

"Are you done?" He asked and I nodded.

"I'll get the car from the parking lot, you can wait by the entrance." I told Ahana and she said okay.

As soon as I turned on the engine, I opened the windows to remove the car smell.

I stopped infront of her and opened the passenger door. She sat down and looked at me. "Thank you for opening the windows firsthand."

"I didn't want you to get nauseous. Shall we?"

We reached the building and I took out the bags from the backseat.

"What's all this?" Ahana asked me.

"It's my first time at your aunt's house, I couldn't come empty handed. So I bought some fruits."

"That's...really thoughtful of you."

We were greeted by her mamas as we entered and soon enough Ahana's cousins were surrounding me.

"Hi Jiju!" One of them greeted me. I think her name was Zainab.

"Hi." I greeted all of them and Ahana came over.

"Stop bothering him! Let's go!" She glared at them. She looks cute when she's angry.

"It's alright." I assured her.

I didn't see much of Ahana the rest of the night. I was constantly surrounded by her uncles, father or cousins. I did see a few glimpses but soon someone would start talking and she would disappear again.

Ahana's P.O.V

It was around eleven when we decided to leave. My nani's (maternal grandmother) family also started leaving.

We all got in the elevator. Ashar went to get the car from the parking and I walked with the others to the road.

There were very less auto rickshaws around as mami and me tried to stop one. Soon Ashar came and opened the passenger seat.

"Is something the problem?" He asked me.

"They can't get an auto."

He nodded thoughtfully, "I can drop them."

"Are you sure?" I asked.

He simply nodded, "Nani, please get in. I'll drop you all."

"Oh no beta, it's okay. We will go on our own."

"Please I insist."

And just like that everyone was seated and he dropped them to their home.

"That was really nice of you. Thank you so much." I told him after we were the only ones left.

"It's no big deal. What kind of son in law would I be if I just left them struggling to get an auto? It's just a car ride anyway."

"Still thank you." I said again smiling.

He lips quirked up in a small grin but he didn't answer. "How about some ice cream before we go back?"

"Ice cream? Again at night? Is it our thing?"

He chuckled, "If you would like to call it that."

"But I don't know if we can call it our thing when this is only the second time we are doing it." I mused.

"I guess we just have to do it more often then." His lips tugged.

I do like that we have a thing now.
