They arrived in front of the Kamisato Estate. "Thoma!" a loud voice from a distance made Thoma jolt. "Oh, my Lord! You're back already?" Thoma tried to let go of Childe's hand, but Childe held on tighter. Thoma looked at Childe, "Childe?" "Alright," Childe sighed.
Thoma smiled nervously at Childe, trying to signal that everything was okay. Childe, although a bit reluctant, released Thoma's hand. Thoma then turned towards the source of the voice and saw Kamisato Ayato approaching them. "My Lord, it's good to see you," Thoma greeted Ayato with a respectful bow. Ayato returned the gesture, his gaze shifting to Childe, who stood beside Thoma.
"And you... you still have unfinished business, I see," Ayato said, his tone hinting at displeasure. Childe's smile faltered slightly at Ayato's comment, but he maintained his composure. "Yes, I'm still here," he replied, shaking Ayato's hand firmly. Despite the underlying tension, Childe tried to remain polite and composed.
Thoma, sensing the awkwardness, interjected, "My Lord, have you already eaten your dinner? If not, let me cook a quick dinner for you." Thoma was trying to break the tension between them. "Sure, I would love to taste your food. It's been a while since I've been out for business." Thoma led Ayato back to his room to calm his mind. Feeling jealous, Childe could only cross his arms, watching Thoma gently comfort his Lord instead of him.
That night, after a sweet date they spent, Thoma found himself sitting in his chair with the dim light. "Oh, you didn't sleep? It's quite late," Thoma said as he took off his jacket. "Do you like it?" Childe said in a cold tone. Thoma turned around, "What?" "Do you like it when you have a fun time with him?" Childe pouted.
Thoma was taken aback by Childe's sudden change in demeanor. He could sense that something was bothering Childe and needed to be addressed. Thoma sat down next to Childe and gently took his hand. "Childe, is something on your mind? You seem upset," Thoma said softly. "Or, do you think I still have feelings for him?" Thoma chuckled, seeing Childe pout. It was cute to experience this for the first time. Childe remained silent. Seeing Childe in distress made Thoma want to tease his gloomy boyfriend more.
Thoma couldn't resist a teasing smile as he looked at Childe's pouting face. "You know, seeing you like this almost makes me want to spend more time with him, just to see you get jealous," he joked, hoping to lighten the mood. Childe's eyes widened, a mix of surprise and hurt crossing his features. "Really? You would do that?" Thoma's smile faded as he realized his words had hurt Childe. "No, no, of course not," he reassured quickly, taking Childe's hands in his. "I was just trying to lighten the mood. I would never do anything to intentionally hurt you or make you feel insecure."
Childe sighed, squeezing Thoma's hands. "Please don't joke like that; I'm scared, Thoma. I'm sorry if you found me annoying. I love you so much, and the thought of losing you... it's unbearable." Thoma's heart ached at Childe's words. He pulled him into a tight hug, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "You won't lose me, Childe. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. I'm very sorry, I won't joke like that next time, okay?" Childe nodded, burying his face in Thoma's chest. "Okay," he whispered. "I love you." "I love you too," Thoma replied, holding Childe close.
"Kiss me on the mouth so I can reconsider whether I should forgive you or not?" Childe rested his chin on Thoma's chest while holding Thoma's waist tightly.
As Thoma felt Childe's chin rest on his chest and heard his playful request, he couldn't help but smile. Leaning back slightly to meet Childe's eyes, he said, "Well, if that's what it takes for forgiveness, then I suppose I have no choice." Thoma leaned in, closing the gap between them, and pressed a soft, lingering kiss on Childe's lips.
Childe's arms tightened around Thoma, deepening the kiss for a moment before pulling back slightly. He looked up at Thoma, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Hmm, I suppose I can find it in my heart to forgive you," he said, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. Thoma chuckled, his heart feeling lighter now that they had moved past the misunderstanding. "I'm glad to hear that. I promise I'll think twice before making jokes like that in the future."
