As the villagers repented on the sins of their ancestors, a new faith rose in their hearts, a faith of
hope and kindness. Along this, there were new wishes. Wishes to do better for themselves,
for their home, Nihar.
The wheels of time moved but the people remained still, believing that the ‘Mountain God’ was
looking after them and the village, in every way possible. But their belief was different this time,
their belief was not blind.
The gloominess and the melancholy that had been hovering over the village for generations had
finally come to an end and a faint ray of new beginnings could be seen with each sunrise that
followed.
The nights were calm as the moon guided its light through the paths, and their sleep was peaceful as
a sense of content resided in their hearts.
The fields flourished, rivers flowed with the clearest of water, and children were no longer caged in
their houses from the fear of the unknown, the lights were never dim and laughter could be
heard from afar.
The head families who were once feared by the villagers who never dared to object
were questioned about their dignity and integrity. They were made to retake their oath to protect
the people and the village till their last inch of blood.
But for reasons unknown, the discomfort still lingered in the air, taking a step forward through
the shadows, that the people were still unaware of or maybe were intentionally kept in the dark.
As history speaks, only through the phases of time, do the secrets unfold, as somewhere
far away, the self-proclaimed ‘God’ was living and growing through the shadows too, and when
the hourglass runs out of sand on either side, he shall step ahead, once again for the mass of
people he had saved, for their home, Nihar.
