“ But that’s impossible, why would Alida ?”.
Nitya was shaking in her boots while everyone was uneasy as to why would Alida commit suicide
in such a gruesome way.
“ Ayama if it’s a suicide then tell us any reason for her to do so and why she didn’t scream.”
Aparna asked a question on behalf of everyone.
“ That’s an easy question. Anyone who checked the secret room without slacking off knows the
answer about why she didn’t feel the pain.”
Everyone was confused and wanted me to explain.
“ While searching the secret room with Rai and Ayudha, I came across a cabinet of meds and
chemicals, almost all of them were half full but there were some empty containers.
Can you guess which one ?”
I gave them the hint
And the one who answered my question was the detective who was silent the whole time.“ The pain relievers”
“Exactly, She took NSAIDs, Acetaminophen, and endorphins tablets and emptied the whole bottle
of them.”
Everyone was bewildered upon listening to my statement.
“ That's impossible, If you take that many meds then you won’t last long.”
Aashwith said with a sad look on his face.
“ That’s why she took them.”
Everyone was trying to process the information then suddenly Aadya asked me a question
“ Do you have any proof that she took the pills ?”
I averted my eyes and looked towards Aadya.
“ You already have proof with yourself. Remember what happened today.”
Aadya and everyone started remembering how Alida was behaving today and how she wasn’t
her usual self
“ But that isn’t proof enough to say she took the meds,”
Nitya said to me.
I was still looking at Aadya who was about to reveal something.
"No that’s not it, while everyone was going to their respective rooms Alida banged herself up on
the library door’s gate hard and she didn’t even flinch rather she didn’t even show any
emotion. She wasn’t even conscious that she hit the door "
Aadya revealed the shocking truth to everyone which made them believe my story.
“ But why? Why would she do that ?”
Aashwith asked us a question and this time neither Rai was looking confident enough to answer
it
What is this strange feeling like I’m missing a very important thing, a clue that I shouldn’t
overlook.
“ After taking that many meds she must have been going through small hallucination episodes
and didn’t realize that the door was in front of her. Poor Alida.”
Nitya said this,
Then suddenly like a flash of light started spamming ideas in my head and the whole event
played into my mind.
(Yes that must be it. If you think about it isn’t that far-fetched and if it comes down to anything
then there’s someone who can confirm it all for me. I should go with this.) .
I was thinking this all in my brain,
While everyone else was searching for her motive to commit suicide I was thinking entirely
different from others
Ayudha who saw my face up close as he was sitting beside me asked
“ Did you get it?” ,
I simply nodded.
“ I’m going to observe for a few moments, you take the flow of the conversation.”
I asked Ayudha to lead the conversation and he did
I was confirming my points over and over again so I wouldn't make a mistake.
After sometime,
Ayudha reached his limit and asked me to take over
I’m ready now. I just have to convince everyone with my theory and get them on my side.I took over,
The anticipation and the mood of the room were at its peak,
Everyone was discussing a different matter with each other whether it was about whether a killer exists or not
and if it’s a suicide or not.
We have to concentrate on one thing and expose the culprit with my reasoning.
Rai didn’t help much in this case or maybe she’s just observing and waiting for the right
opportunity to strike down?
No, I can't rely on her.
The only one who I can rely on is me and the theory I just came up with.
While I was lost in thought someone called my name,
“ Hey Ayama! Can you convince her that a killer doesn’t exist and this is a suicide? She’s so
stubborn.”
Aadya said to me, referring to Nitya.
“ I didn’t deny that there’s a killer involved in all this.”
Again all the discussion Among us stopped
They were all focused on my words.
“ But you just said she took the pills.”
Nitya was baffled by all this
“ I did say she took the meds and said the killer wasn’t in the room when the murder happened but I
didn't deny their existence.
There sure is a killer among us who is acting innocent and I’ll just pull them out with my theory
now.”
“ I’m with you Ayama. Take us closer to the truth.”
Aadya said with a lot of expectations from me
.
I nodded and started narrating my theory
“ Let’s revisit the crime scene. The body was in a terrible state clearly stating that it wasn’t a
suicide but a murder but what’s unusual is that there’s no exit and the door was locked from inside.
People in the mansion are the prime suspects in this case and the Vent is out of options...
But there’s something the dead body left for us, it’s a clue that everyone overlooked even I did
but now I know how it all happened.
You must have seen her hands,
Her left hand was broken, nailed to the ground facing downwards but her right hand was facing
upwards with the pointy side of the nail piercing through the back of the hand while Palm facing
upwards.
This is surely strange enough but what’s more strange is that the palm of the left hand was
painted in blood but the right hand was clean and only the back of her hand was bloody.”
" Does this signify anything? ",
Ayudha asked
“ Yes, the right palm of her hand was gripping something which made it hard to splash blood on it
and the thing she was gripping was none other than the dragger itself.”
