Pearls pov:

Everyone on Hermitcraft knows that Grian doesn't age. He doesn't know why and prefers not to talk about it. We are getting ready to world jump, so we need to clean and finish our buildings. I’ve been helping the Hermits prepare for the jump. Right now, I'm assisting Grian in sorting out his personal effects and deciding what he could leave behind in this world. While going through one of his chests, I found a bunch of old, dusty videos. They were so well-preserved that I felt compelled to see what was on them. Naturally, I asked Grian if he was okay with it. He said to go ahead, as he didn't remember what was on them. He also asked me to wait for him so he could watch them too.Soon, a small crowd gathered. It included Xisuma and his brother Grian, who was floating around as a soul, so he didn't take up much room, as well as Scar, Mumbo, and myself.

Once everyone had their snacks and drinks and were comfortable, I played the first video in the album. Grian looked so cute when he was little. There were no lyrics, just some amazing playing, and the video was recorded on an old camera that didn’t show who was recording. Grian seemed to be so focused on the song. He had earplugs in, so if the person recording had said anything, Grian couldn't hear it. We heard a giggle from the person recording. "He is such a liar; he can play," they mumbled to the camera. They tried to keep the video steady, but then there was a weight on the person's back. Grian still hadn't noticed them."Sam, shhhh! He might hear us!" someone said with a giggle. The video panned away from Grian to show a rabbit hybrid with red eyes and long white ears."Taurtis..." He said, looking so serious. "You've had the flash on the whole time! I'm shocked he didn't notice you sooner." Sam said playfully as he shoved the camera away. We got a better look at Sam. He had chestnut-colored hair and wore a school uniform. Small freckles dotted his face and hands, and his hair reached down to the back of his neck. He almost looked cute, but I didn't say anything."Shhhh, Sam, it's dark. That's why I have the light on, so I can see him," whispered Taurtis. We noticed the music had stopped at this point, but they didn't seem to realize it as they continued to whisper-yell at each other. The cameraman, forgetting he was recording, pointed the camera back to the door. We saw little Grian put his instrument down and look at the door as he pulled out his earplugs. His feathered ears toned into what the other two were talking about. He smiled a bit as he stretched his little red wings and, as quietly as he could, went to the door. In one swift movement, he opened it."What are you doing?" Grian asked, making Sam and Taurtis scream and hug each other in surprise. The camera fell to the floor, and it was facing up, so we could see the cameraman."You can't just do that!" Taurtis said, letting go of Sam as little Grian laughed hard.Taurtis had darker hair than Sam. Due to the light, we couldn't fully see the color, but he was wearing the same school uniform as Grian and Sam: a light blue outfit with a red tie. His eyes were something else—one was red and the other blue. He wore sweatbands on his arms and headphones with the same color pattern: red, deep blue, and black. Taurtis looked down and picked up the camera then stopped the recording.

We were all laughing a bit. Grian floated above everyone, confused but laughing with us. This Grian didn't have wings or feathered ears; he looked more human than when he was alive. He still had the sandy blonde hair. He really did remind me of my little brother, who was taken away from me and left in Japan.I popped the disk out and went for the next one. "You know, for a soul, Grian," I started to say as I put in the next disk, "it's nice to know you were like that when you were alive, too. It really reminds me of my little brother. He was taken from me by my dad and left in Japan because we didn't know where he got his red wings in a family of sparrow avians."

"Pre-mission? This one has a name, the other one didn't," I said, looking back at the group. Grian shrugged, and I played the video. It was the same three as in the last video, but a bit older—not by much, but still older. They were wearing tactical gear, mostly black. Grian and Sam had dyed they're hair black and also decided to dye their ears and wings black too, and that's what this video was about.
