If you read the part at the beginning of 'The mark of Athena' where Leo was kinda crushing on Hazel, now imagine Leo liking Hazel AND Frank. And our cutie pie couple is considering letting Mr. Bad Boy Supreme join their relationship. Well, let's see...

"You got something to say, Leo?" Piper asked her best friend. He was all nervous when he asked her for help rambling something about how she could help because of her mom. They sat in the dinning room and ate some Burritos Leo made. He was great at cooking, even since Piper was vegetarian and disliked most food that is supposed to be cooked with meat but isn't.

Leo started playing with some tiny machine while looking at his now empty plate. He was slightly struggling to find the words for whatever he wanted to say. After some time, he finally started talking: "Uhm, so Piper. You know that you are my best friend and I treat you like a sister. And I know that you sometimes aren't that happy with the fact that your mom is the goddess of love, but you know that I wouldn't be asking you this if it wasn't urgent. It's about... A crush. Or more likely two?" His voice was low as he said that and Piper could swear she has never seen him this serious. Like never ever. But she quickly caught her thoughts again. "Soooo... Is this like some kind of... Do you not know which person you like or you can't decide who you really love or are you actually in love with both?" Piper asked her best friend, really wanting to help him as he looked so clueless right now.
"Uhm... I like both of them equally, but they are already dating and I don't want to ruin anything between them because they look very cute together. But it also hurts to... you know... like them. What can I do?"
"Alright, let's start with one simple question: who are these two?"
"... Hzlnfank..."
"What did you say? Gods, I hate it when people mumble. No offence though."
"None taken. I said... Hazel and Frank?"
Piper had to blink a few times to make sure this wasn't a dream or something like that. When her multiple coloured eyes laid upon Leo again, he was a blushing mess. "Wait wait wait. So are you like, bi or pan? And you like the sweethearts? Oh my gods, this is so exciting! Iiiieeekkkk!" Piper said already fangirling about the new ship she had to sail. The next second, a very red Frank opened the door. "Uhm... Leo? Jason and Annabeth need you up there. You mind coming up?" He said. Leo nodded awkwardly. "Leo to the rescue! Wait- now I want a cape..." He said, his voice was first cheery then pensive. After screaming that one, he ran out of the room. Piper and Frank made eye contact. Then the Cherokee girl asked: "You heard everything, didn't you? I don't care if you don't like him back or anything, BUT if you hurt him, I'm going to hunt you down. I don't care how cute you and Hazel are. If you hurt Leo, I'm going to hurt you." The half Chinese boy nodded, way too shy to say anything. "Good to know that we agree." Piper said while walking out of the dining room in the direction of her own room, as every second sleep was worth gold or even more.

"Hazel? Do you have a minute for me?" Frank asked his girlfriend. The daughter of Pluto smiled at him. "Of course I do, you're my boyfriend now, aren't you? What a silly question for you to ask! What is it?" Hazel said in a cheery voice. "Uhm... Can we go somewhere more private?" The son of Mars asked, eyeing everyone, especially a short Latino. But little did he know, the short Latino caught him. "Hm? Alright, let's go to my room!"

'Oh my gods, why was he looking at me while telling Hazel that they needed to talk? Did Piper tell him? No, she would never... HE MUST HAVE HEARD ME! Oh no no no no no. What if he hates me now? What if he tells Hazel and she hates me too?' these thoughts wouldn't stop floating Leo's head. His breath quickened and everything he could hear was his nervous heartbeat. That was before someone started calling out his name. "Leo? Leo! LEO!?" After hearing that, the son of Hephaestus shook his head and wore one of his signature smiles, not wanting to worry any of his friends. "I'm on it, chica sabia! I just need to bring my toolbox! Don't worry, LEO TO THE RESCUE!" That was a lie. He could just grab whatever he needed from his belt. And the machine wasn't even broken. There was just a tiny something in between two gears. But Leo wanted - no, needed - to know what was the deal with Hazel and Frank, at all costs.
