39 - Well shit

"So, what happened? Why aren't you both at the farm?" Caden asks.

Aaron turns his face to Elise and we follow him.

Elise sighs and scratches her head.

"Well, when I arrived, I got a phone call from my mother." She starts.

"Didn't you just change numbers?" I ask. She nods.

"I don't know how she keeps finding out. But, she called me and told me that Luca Macedo... well... He's my father."

When those words leave her mouth we all freeze.

"Apparently they had a one night stand, she ended up pregnant and tried to run away from him. She knew he was bad news. But, somehow, he found out and now he knows who I am. He knows I'm with you guys. I think we're all in danger." I see her eyes getting sadder after each word. "I'm so sorry, I had no idea. I swear I would've never come into your lives if I knew any of this."

"Baby, it's not your fault. We will deal with this. I promise you." Aaron says and kisses her forehead to calm her down.

That bastard. How did he find out? How did this happen?

"Dear, why don't you take a warm bubble bath, and when you're done you come meet us in my office?" I suggest.

She nods and make her way upstairs.

"Caden, before you say you're going to kill that bitch, let's make a plan first." I say.

Caden widen his eyes.

"I didn't even say anything." He raises his hands in surrender.

"You didn't have to." I tell him and he shrugs.

When we arrive at my office, we all sit down and I pour some whiskey in our cups. Alcohol helps us think.

"So." Aaron begins. "What are we gonna do?" He asks.

"First, we keep Elise safe. Tell the school she's sick or some shit." I tell Aaron. "I don't want her out of this house for a few days at least. We must increase security as well. I want men on every gate and rounds at night as well."

"I think it's time we give Elise a gun." Caden says. "She's been doing amazing in practice, and we can't take any risks. Just to make sure she'll be fine."

"I agree. I can homeschool her for as long as it takes as well. But you two must respect our study times." Aaron says. "And the wedding will have to wait."

"Or we can do it as soon as possible." I say and Aaron frowns. "Then we can focus 100% on Luca. But let's give our girl the best wedding in the world first."

Caden nods. "And after that?" He asks.

"After that we hunt Luca down and finish this once and for all." I state.

"I'll run a background check on her mother as well." Caden says and drinks his whiskey. "Are we telling Elise? That we're going to kill her father?"

"She deserves to know. We must respect her and make decisions together. She's our future wife, after all." Aaron replies.

We hear a soft knock on the door and Elise walks inside.

"Hey, I'm feeling much better now." She smiles. God, I love that smile. "What's the plan?"

"For now, we will start the wedding arrangements. You can go after a wedding dress tomorrow with us, but after that I don't want out of this house." I tell her.

Elise bites her lip and starts playing with her hands. I frown at her and she clears her throat.

"I would like to go with my friends tomorrow."

"No way." Caden says coldly.

"I don't want you to see it before the wedding. It's the only objection I have." She says firmly.

I look at the boys and Aaron sighs.

"Fine. But, you're taking a gun with you. And three guards." He says.

Elise jumps in excitement and kisses each one of us.

"Thank you! Now I have to call Leah and Gigi!" She rushes out of the office.

"Was this a good idea?" Caden asks.

"Of course." I answer. "Since I'll be outside the store at all times and following them around." I smirk.

Aaron chuckles.

So much for respecting her.
