Sam Carpenter never, ever, EVER thought she'd see the day where her baby sister was graduating high school. Tara has come a long way, especially since she's become valedictorian. Sam was very proud since she wasn't able to achieve that herself when she was in high school, but her sister did, and that's all that matters - that her sister didn't follow in her footsteps.

"Tara! Tara!" Sam called out as she moved toward her younger sister who was standing with her friends. "You did amazing up there!" She then pulled the shorter girl into the tightest hug.

"Thanks, Sammy," Tara responded happily, she was glad someone in her family was here. Since her father wasn't absent and her mother couldn't care less. "Ugh, thanks for coming."

"Of course I came, you're a grad now, Tare." Sam smiled, holding her sister's cheeks.

"Tara!" Sam then paused when she heard that voice, she totally forgot she went here and was VERY surprised she graduated. Suddenly, her sister was scooped up and spun around by the taller but still short, black-haired, sneaky, pale girl Tara called her girlfriend. Amber. "You did so good up there, baby."

Gag. She couldn't stand seeing her sister with Amber, how can she describe Amber Freeman? Well, she's basically a mini high school version of herself, she's a bad influence on Tara, she's a junkie, and ever so RUDE. That's how she can describe that two-faced bit-

"Oh, hi Samuel," Amber greets when she notices the woman standing in front of her and her girlfriend. "Didn't see you there."

"Sure you didn't," Sam huffed.

Hopefully this relationship was just a phase.

4 years later

"Hi, Sam," a friend of the woman says, Kirby. She has been working with Sam for almost two years now. Lucky enough, they went to the same high school together. Sam being a freshman and Kirby being a senior.

"Hello, Kirby," Sam says as she doesn't look up from her computer.

"You know, I feel like you should take a break," Kirby suggested as she leans against the wall.

"W-Why would I take a break? I'm working so hard," Sam tells her, not looking up from her computer.

Kirby spins Sam's desk chair around, "because, you've been working for three hours now and I'm sure your fingers will thank me," she told the dark brown-haired girl.

Sam cracked her knuckles. It's been 4 years since she moved to New York away from California. She just thought it'd be great to remove that chapter of her life and just move on and become someone new. Who is she kidding? She just needed to get away from her ex-fiancé, Danny.

"No, thanks," she says, making her hand move like a mouth.

Kirby rolled her eyes. She knew how stubborn Sam was, she has been for the two years they've been friends.
