The air was thick with smoke and the distant sound of explosions reverberated through the crumbling city streets. Y/n's heart pounded in her chest as she huddled behind a pile of debris, her hands shaking with adrenaline. She had never imagined finding herself in the middle of a battle between superheroes and killer robots, but here she was, desperate to survive.

From her vantage point, Y/n scanned the chaos around her, her eyes wide with fear. Buildings lay in ruins, cars overturned, and civilians scrambled for safety amidst the mayhem. But amidst the destruction, she spotted a familiar blur of silver streaking across the battlefield: Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver.

Her breath caught in her throat as she watched Pietro racing to save Clint Barton and a frightened little boy from a barrage of gunfire. She felt a surge of panic, knowing that they were in grave danger. Without hesitation, Y/n knew she had to do something to help.

With trembling hands, she reached for a nearby piece of metal, her fingers closing around it tightly. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she was about to do. Then, with all the strength she could muster, she hurled the scrap of metal towards the nearest Ultron drone, aiming to divert its attention away from Pietro and the others.

Time seemed to slow as the metal sailed through the air, her heart pounding in her ears. For a moment, Y/n held her breath, unsure if her impulsive act would make any difference. But then, to her shock and relief, the scrap of metal struck the drone with a resounding clang, causing it to veer off course and explode in a shower of sparks.

As the dust settled, Y/n's eyes widened in disbelief. She had done it. She had saved Quicksilver.

Across the battlefield, Pietro skidded to a stop, his eyes locking with hers in a moment of stunned silence. Y/n felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins as she realized the magnitude of what she had just accomplished. She had faced her fears and emerged victorious, proving that even an ordinary civilian could be a hero in the face of danger.

As Y/n's heart raced with the thrill of her impromptu heroism, she couldn't shake the adrenaline coursing through her veins. The realization that she had saved Quicksilver, one of the Avengers, filled her with a mix of pride and disbelief. But amidst the chaos of battle, there was little time for celebration.

Pietro, his eyes wide with astonishment, approached Y/n with a mixture of gratitude and curiosity. "Didn't see that one coming" he exclaimed, his accent tinged with disbelief.

Y/n nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "I couldn't just stand by and watch. I had to do something."

Pietro's gaze softened, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Well, I'm glad you did. Thank you."

As the two of them shared a brief moment of camaraderie, the sound of approaching footsteps interrupted their exchange. Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, emerged from the smoke, a look of relief washing over his face when he spotted Pietro.

"Kid, you alright?" Clint asked, his voice laced with concern.

Pietro nodded, casting a glance at Y/n. "Thanks to her," he said, gesturing towards Y/n with a grateful smile.

Clint's eyes widened in surprise as he turned to Y/n, taking in her disheveled appearance and the determined glint in her eyes. "You're not one of us," he observed, his tone cautious.

Y/n shook her head, feeling a rush of nerves at the realization that she was standing in the presence of the Avengers. "No, I'm just a civilian. I... I don't even know how I ended up here."

Clint studied her for a moment, his gaze piercing. "Well, you've got guts, kid. That much is clear."

Before Y/n could respond, a voice crackled over the comms, interrupting their conversation. "We need backup at the east side. Ultron's got reinforcements incoming."

Pietro exchanged a glance with Clint, his expression grave. "We need to go," he said, turning back to Y/n. "Can you get to safety?"

Y/n nodded, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and exhilaration. "I'll find a way," she promised.

With a final nod of gratitude, Pietro and Clint sprinted off into the smoke, leaving Y/n alone amidst the wreckage of battle.
