The Summer Of Callie

Chapter One

~Callie's POV~

As I stepped out of the airport, I breathed in the Virginia air. I missed it. I look around outside for a car to pick me up. A little down the street, there was a jeep. I smile and walk closer to it. I could recognize that jeep from anywhere. It's Shawn's. I drop my suitcases and run over to him. He's leaned up on the hood of the jeep. He saw me and got off the car and ran to me too. When we meet in the middle, he picks me up and twirls me while we're hugging. (You could say it is a movie moment).

"I missed you so much Callie." Shawn sets me on the ground but we're still hugging.

"I missed you too Shawn," I snuggle my head into his chest.

We let go and get my bags. Then, we get into the jeep and make our way to my aunt's house. The drive to my aunt's house from the airport is about 20 minutes.

During the car ride, Shawn and I talk about his tour, DigiTour, and what has happened in our lives since the last time we saw each other.

We arrive to my aunts house and we climb out of the jeep, grabbing my bags. We make our way inside the huge house and set my bags down in the living room. We walked into the kitchen and I see my aunt, Matt's mom, and a couple other moms. They were all turned away from me and Shawn putting a salad together. I sneak up behind my aunt and put my hands over her eyes. She turns around and almost drops a bowl full of lettuce when she sees its me. She sets the bowl down and hugs me tightly. I hug her in return. Me and my aunt are really close because I've depend on her since my mom died when I was 9, I'm 15 now.

"Hi honey, how have you been?" We pull away from our hug as my aunt says that.

"I've been good." I sigh, "just missing home."

My family and I used to live in Virginia but then my mom died so we moved away.

"But you just left home." My aunt turns back to the bowl of lettuce and starts cleaning it.

"I know I just left my house home, but I've missed home home." I start giving the other ladies hugs and turn back to my aunt.

My aunt sets the bowl down again and looks at me, "You mean you miss Virginia huh?"

I look down at my feet and tap my foot lightly on the hard wood floors, "Yeah. I've missed it a lot more now that I'm growing up." I look back up to my aunt who is staring with sad eyes at me.

"Do you still think about her?" I slowly nod trying to hold my tears back. "So do I honey."

There was a slight moment of silence till Shawn broke it.

"Well, let's go outside and see the other guys!" Shawn gives my aunt and Matt's mom a quick hug before picking me up and placing me on his shoulder.

"Shawn put me down!" I playfully hit his back, "I want to walk to them, not be carried by a big 6'2" monster."

Shawn sets me down and puts a hand over his heart and acts hurt, "Hurtful. I'm not a monster."

"Whatever, just c'mon." I smile and Shawn and grab his hand from his chest.
