Ever since that day in the library, Charles has been unusually nice to me. Buying me meals, carrying my bags and so on, and that creeped me out. One day, I saw Charles again, outside my dorm, his sunflower smile glowering as he saw me. "Hey Y/N, good mor-" "Charles, why're so nice to me?" I asked, and Charles looked puzzled, his smile not faltering. "W-What do you mean?" he asked. "Before this, you were a jerk to me, always making fun of me and getting me into trouble. So why're so nice to me?" I asked, furrowing my brows. This boy was definitely up to something, and I was going to find out, by hook or by crook. Charles tried to explain, but that only made tears spring into my eyes. I was tired of playing these stupid games. Losing my parents, having nobody to turn to, getting bullied? This was the end of the line. I was confused why my heart raced every time I saw him now, and how I loved his smile, and that made me sick in the stomach. I couldn't take it anymore, tears rushing down my cheeks as I walked past him. Charles trying to explain himself, but I blatantly ignored it. I wasn't going to be played any longer.

During rugby practice, I couldn't focus at all, my mind replaying Y/N's hurt and exasperated as she stormed off, tears flowing down her cheeks. "Oi Charles!" yelled Albert, but it was too late, as the ball came plummeting towards me, bruising my cheek.
"You don't seem like yourself." asserted Livio, my older brother as I groaned, rubbing the ice-pack to my cheek as we sat on the bleachers. The coach had ordered me to take a time out, and asked our captain, Livio, to send me to the medical bay to get an ice-pack. "I take it that I've gotten my answer?" Livio asked, and I just blatantly sulked. "Yup, got it. What's up lil bro?" he asked, ruffling my hair. I sighed as I explained everything that had happened with Y/N, and how she ran away, and how Anu had been bullying her. "That jerk!" Livio roared, rage evident in his eyes. "I'll have a chat with Shintarou about him. Anyways, you shouldn't have picked on her too!" Livio scolded, smacking me on my head. "Ow!" I exclaimed, rubbing my head. "But you did it cause you liked her, didn't you?" Livio stated, and I could feel my cheeks heating up. I knew what he was talking about. I was bad at expressing my emotions, so picking on people was a way to express that, but it never really ended so well. "Knew it." Livio said, smirking. "So I fucked up, but what am I gonna do now?" I asked him, raising a brow. "With the help of moi, of course!" Livio teased.
