—Serena? —a woman with a dyed platinum-blonde hair who was driving began to talk to her and watched her briefly from the rearview mirror before looking back down on the road—. Serena —she called her attention again, now this time with a singing voice.

The girl turned away from the window pane and looked at the mirror.

—Oh, yes, Mom? —she replied coldly as took off her headphones.

—What's wrong, sweetie? Aren't you excited to go to your new school? —the mother asked in her soft voice and a smile to her daughter, who was playing with the strands of her brown hair. There was a heavy silence between them for a few minutes.

—New school... —Serena muttered quietly, letting out a long sigh in the process and with her headphones on again; the summer vacations had passed in the blink of an eye, especially the last few weeks...

«I feel like everything it's going too fast...» she thought to herself as let herself be carried away by the soft melody of the harp and violin in the song she was listening to at that moment, that symphony made her feel like when was tucked under the soft, weighted blankets of her bed during cold nights, a so warm and cozy feeling, that always made her smile and...

—Do you have everything you need? —her mother finally broke the silence—. Remember what your father and I have told you about.

Serena paused the song, just as it was about to end.

—Oh! Yes, Mom! I have it all in the bag —she answered, surprised and internally frustrated.

She had completely forgotten that conversation between her and her parents, a week ago, she hadn't done anything wrong, but it still turned out to be an important topic; her parents are hardworking people and always supportive, so Serena would always be grateful to them for everything they have done for her.
