Kory once again sits at the back of the room, only this time he was actually paying attention. He happened to really enjoy English. Especially when they did close reads like they were now. He really liked Sherlock Holmes stories. They were always interesting to him.
The teacher paused the audio book to ask some questions and of course she called on Kory to answer one of the.
"Alright Kory, how about this one. What were three important details that Holmes found out that discovered the true identity of the killer?" The teacher, Mrs. Miller, asks.
"Does it matter which three I pick?" Kory responds already thinking of the ones he would pick.
"Any of them." She responds.
"Ok. Holmes figured out that Stapleton and his supposed 'sister' were actually husband and wife when he searched some school records and found their pictures. The warning letter from the beginning of the book smelt like a woman's perfume. And that the painting of Hugo looked like Stapleton when the hair was covered." Kory responds as he plays with the edge of his table.
"Very good. I hope you all are listening to these details. They will be on the final." Mrs.Miller says and starts the audio book up again. Moments later, a note lands on Korys desk and he picks it us. When he opens the letter he almost laughs at what's written.
'Fucking nerd.'
Kory looks around to see who threw it and his eyes land on one of the upperclassman who was retaking the class this particular jock was staring directly at him. Kory smiles and writes a response and sneakily throws it back to the other.
'At least I don't have to retake this class'
Kory goes back to reading his book, and he was disappointed when he finished it. He laid the book down and pulled a new one out of his bag and sat back while reading. It was a normal occurrence on the class for Kory to finish before them and for him to always have another book with him.
Kory sighs but also was almost relieved. He only had four more class periods until he was out for the day. And of those four were three music periods. Band, Guitar, and choir. He liked music. A lot. And it showed in the classes. He played multiple instruments, whether it be stringed, brass, or woodwind. And he loved to sing. Not many boys would join a choir class anymore.
But there were four of them this year. He just hopes he would survive history before his three music classes.
