Standing on her tiptoes on a small stool, Selene shuffled through the 5th rack in the bookshelf. Never did she think she would experience the inconvenience of having short height again. Yet here she was- stretching her hand with all her might and straining her neck to look at the titles.
"Why do they have to keep the useful ones so high- ugh. Aha, found it." Selene happily jumped down.
She walked over to one of the long tables and set the book she picked out on it, titled- 'Prominent figures of Magnesian Empire in last 100 years. Volume 6'
Flipping through the pages, she found the section- 'Prominent figures of the Cinqian War'. Skipping to the table of 'Knights with most contribution', her eyes ran over the long list of both noble and commoner names before finally finding the name she wanted in the special contributions list-
Sir Ivar Archer, more known to people as the 'Demonic Wrecker' because the ruination he brought every time he attacked an enemy unit. He also had a hand in bringing the war itself to an end. But after the war, he completely disappeared from the public eye and thirty- three years later, a girl was found by him in a forest near the Rockes mountain, wounded by the people who were sent to kill her by a rich noble lady.
Yes, he had found and saved the heroine who was being chased by the assassins the villainess had sent after her. There it was revealed that his right hand had become immobile because of the severe injuries he had sustained in the war. Yet with one hand and his sword he was able to fight off all the assassins and escape with the heroine.
"Ivar Archer? You want to learn from him? But isn't it better to learn from someone who is more known for teaching swordsmanship than someone who hasn't been seen for last twenty- seven years?" Lumen asked, skeptical about Selene's idea.
"Since I'm the one putting in effort to find a teacher, why not have the best one?" Selene asked, back.
"Best? But surely- Hey, wait!" Lumen ran after Selene who exited library with all the documents and newspaper she had sorted looking forward to the next day.

Selene trudged on the grassy trail, her tired feet aching all over. Her day was definitely not going as she had predicted- She had spent last night searching for articles about Archer, and with great difficulty was able to dig up two of them. One dated seven years ago and the other two years. Both of them were about the then recent sightings of Archer-when you are a famous war hero, people don't forget you even after twenty-five years of disappearance.
Selene had then visited Erast near the Rockes, the town where Ivar was said to be spotted in the report and asked around about it from the inhabitants. Finally with a statement given by a vendor, they landed here in the forest at the foot of the Rockes.
She looked at her pocket watch's hour hand which pointed at one, indicating that her class back home had started. Fortunately, she had the foresight to contact Val about her possible absence the night before, along with the promise of helping him in one of his experiments.
'Are you sure this is the only way?'
'What do you mean?' Selene asked.
'We have been wandering around aimlessly like this for almost three hours now. Look how withered Anna has gotten!'
'You've got any better idea?'
'.......I do not but I do know that we definitely are in the need of a rest.'
