All of them entered the dark tunnel and climbed down more stairs. They eventually made it out, this time Eliriel stayed at the back of the group together with the other hunters.

"Let me risk a little more light." Gandalf whispered, his staff now shining a bit brighter.

"Behold, the great realm and Dwarf city of Dwarrowdelf."

Now that light allowed them to see better, Eliriel found herself staring in awe at the place.

In front of them were many rows of giant stone columns that went up to the ceiling. All of them had different patterns and shapes, making each of them unique and beautiful in their own way. The enormous room seemed to stretch out endlessly.

This made Eliriel really appreciate the architecture of the Dwarven city.

"There's an eye opener, and no mistake." Sam marveled.

They all made their way further, passing the base of a big column until an opening came into view.

An open door with skeletons outside of it. Gimli quickly bolted and run towards it before anyone could say anything.

"Gimli!" Gandalf exclaimed.

Everyone quickly followed him into the room, more skeletons and broken weapons came into view.

In the center of it was a rectangular structure with a single beam of light shining upon it. It was shaped like a coffin. Eliriel could see dwarven runes carved on it.

'Oh, no...Balin...'

One of the members of Thorin's company had passed.

The dwarf in front of her fell to his knees. "No, no," He cried. "No!" His head was low, his heart filled with grief.

Eliriel knew better than anyone what loosing someone you hold dear feels like.

The elleth slowly approached him and put a hand on his shoulder, letting the dwarf grieve. She didn't like seeing him like this, he was always so full of mirth and boisterous energy.

She might not have talked much with Balin back then but from what Bilbo had told her, he always provided wisdom and comfort.

She moved away from him to give him some space and took a few steps back as the rest of the Fellowship entered.

Gandalf took of his hat and passed the dwarf with sorrow. "It's as I feared." His voice was low.

As Gimli continued crying on his knees, Gandalf moved his attention to a thick book held by a skeleton near the tomb.

Everyone was on edge as they stood there.

"We must move on. We cannot linger." Legolas whispered uneasy, as she stood next to him and Aragorn.

Gandalf began reading the text from the book he picked up.

"They have taken the bridge and the second hall. We have barred the gates, but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes. Drums...drums in the deep."

His words made Eliriel feel chills all over her body. She shivered as she listened. Her bad feeling was correct. Something was here and it was more sinister than she expected.

The wizard looked at the members briefly before continuing. "We cannot get out. A shadow moves in the dark. We cannot get out...they are coming."

From the corner of her eyes Eliriel noticed Pippin twist an arrow that was stuck on a skeleton corpse that stood on the edge of a stone well.

"Pippin, don't!" Eliriel hissed to warn him but it was too late.

Just after he touched the arrow the head of the corpse detached from the body and fell down the well, creating a loud noise.

The hobbit quickly turned around, moving away from it, his eyes falling on Gandalf who was ready to snap at him.

But that was not all. After the head, soon followed the rest of the body that still had some metal armor on and a chain attached to one leg. It fell down, bouncing on the walls creating an even louder noise and then the bucket fell as well, producing loud bangs as it went down.

Pippin had closed his eyes with every bang as he realized his mistake. After what seemed like years the bucket reached the ground and finally there was silence.

Gandalf forcefully closed the book he was holding. "Fool of a Took! Throw yourself in next time, and rid us of your stupidity!" He roughly grabbed his staff back from the hobbit as he looked down.

Eliriel sighed in relief but that feeling was cut short.

Thump.

Suddenly the beating of drums echoed throughout the mines.

Thump.

Everyone stood on guard, anticipating something to happen.

More loud thumps and shrieks were heard.

Eliriel looked at Frodo's sword as he unsheathed it. It glowed a light blue hue. That only meant one thing.

"Orcs!" Eliriel confirmed what the rest of them were thinking.

Quickly Boromir went to the doors, avoiding two arrows that were shot by the evil creatures. He closed them shut together with Aragorn and stood guard.

The hobbits stood behind Gandalf in fear. Eliriel stood near them for extra protection.

"They have a cave troll." Boromir mused sarcastically as he and Aragorn stood by the doors.

Eliriel rolled her eyes. "This is not the time Boromir!" She told him, unsheathing her sword, waiting.

Legolas threw the two of them some weapons to help barricade the doors as the creatures were trying to get in.

The three of them then stood back getting their weapons ready. Even the hobbits unsheathed their swords.

Gimli released a terrifying growl and jumped on the tomb stone, holding his axe tightly. "Let them come! There is one Dwarf yet in Moria who still draws breath."

Legolas got his bow ready and shot an orc through a tiny hole in the door. Aragorn shot one as well, but soon switched to his sword.

Everyone awaited for them to get in. Eliriel felt her heart beat loudly in her chest.

'Now the battle begins...'
