"That was beyond rude." I say to Miles as he takes a bite of his taco.

"It was funny as hell." He laughs again at the event and looks at me. I frown, so he rolls his eyes. "What? You got a crush on the new kid?" He leans closer, obviously pissed...as always.

"Oh definitely." I roll my eyes at him this time. He scoffs and finishes his taco.

Miles has a very short fuse, to be honest. He's already gotten in two fights this school year and it's only November. I roll my eyes at his usual attitude and finish my drink.

"Why is your car a mess?" I asked, trying to start the conversation up again. He furrows his eyebrows.

"What do- oh, oh! Yeah it's just a mess. I drove my brother and I to a party last weekend. Nothing new." He shrugs and gets up from his chair.
"Your house?" I ask he turns to me confused, but gets what I'm meaning.
"Definitely." He kisses my lips before opening the door for me.

"Yeah I know." I say to my mom over the phone. She's telling me to be home by 11 and to bring home pizza. I tug on my shorts and hold the phone between my shoulder and my cheek.
"Don't forget to fill up the truck." She reminds me. We say our goodbyes and I place my phone on Miles' bed. He sits there with only a pair of sweatpants on and plays on his MacBook, checking his phone every now and then.
"Your mom?" I nod when he looks up and he nods, as well. I look for my tshirt but can't seem to find it.
"Babe-" I was interrupted by my shirt being thrown at my face. I roll my eyes and jump on the bed next to him. He locks his phone and sets it on his stomach. I roll my eyes and grab the controller so I could pick a new episode of Friends on Netflix.
"What time are you going home?" He asks suddenly.
"Eager for me to leave?" I say, smirking as I press play on an episode. He chuckles and nods.
"Of course. No, but seriously what time?" I roll my eyes again and shrug.
"I don't know."
"Maybe soon?" I turn to look at him and scrunch my eyebrows together.
"Why do you want me to leave so soon?" He shrugs and turns back to the TV. Nope. Not today.

I get up from the bed and try to find my Vans. Once I tuck the laces in and pull them on, I grab my phone.
"Later." I say rudely and slam the bedroom door before walking into the living room. I spot his older brother on the couch and he laughs when he sees me.
"Miles being a dick?" I scuff and throw a pillow at him.
"What do you think?" He smirks and waves a goodbye as I walk out the door to my truck.

I stop by Little Caesars on my way home. I decide to get gas, since my mom told me to. I pull in to get to the pumps in the back of the store and notice a familiar tan boy leaning against the wall. He lights a cigarette as I walk by into the store. I pay the lady quickly and come back out, the boy still there.
"Hey-" he looks up at me. "-uh I saw you at school this morning. Your new yeah?" I say. He rolls his eyes and puffs smoke out.
"Obviously." He takes another drag.
"Right. Anyways,I'm Jaz and I just wanted to say sorry for the stunt my boyfriend pulled on you after school. He's a dick." He snorts and looks at me.
"That was your boyfriend? Doesn't seem like your type." I furrow my brows and cross my arms across my chest.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I say confidently. He drops his cigarette and steps on it. He steps closer to me and my breath hitches.

"You're quite attractive." He says in a low voice. My eyes widen as I take a step back.

"I have a boyfriend." He snickers and rolls his eyes.

"I'll see you around. Oh and tell your boyfriend to stay on my good side." And with that, he speeds away in his trashy car.

"What the f-" my phone vibrates so I pick it up quickly.

"Hello?"
"Hey. Babe I'm sorry." I roll my eyes and get into my truck.
"Miles I'm not up for this right now. I'll text you later."
"Jaz, c'mon. I said I'm sorry alright? Just come back here."
"No I have to go home. I already told my mom I was on my way home." I hear him sigh on the other end.
"Alright fine. Love you."
"Love you, too." I hang up and close my eyes, sighing.
