A/N *The above image is how I picture Jaz thorughout the story(Maddie Hasson). *

Jaz's POV

"Got that 'W' thoughhhhhhhh!" Someone yells on the bus. I smile and pose for the picture my teammate was taking. My smile slowly fades when everyone sits back down and I notice a missed call from Miles. I sigh and call him.

"Hey babe." He answers groggily. I roll my eyes and wish I hadn't called him in the first place.

"Hey. We just finished our game, so I thought I'd call you back." I slowly take off my shinguards while I wait for him to reply. He probably passed out drunk, no doubt.

"Yeah, yeah. Someone told me you guys won. Good job ba-"

"Miiiiiillessss. Come hereeeeee." Someone on the other end wines.

"Miles? Who was that?" My heart pounds against my rib cage. I knew that voice.

"That was just Sarah, you know. She's always being a br-"

"Babe! "

"Shut up!" Miles growls. I hang up quickly and run to the front of the bus as soon as we stop in the school's parking lot. I literally just heard my boyfriend cheating on me. I try to catch my breath in between sobs, but I end up leaning against my truck crying. I drop my bag to the ground and sit down, the tire propping my back. I drop my head in my hands and ignore my vibrating phone in my pocket. I knew this was happening. I practically saw t this morning, but what did I do? I ignored it and now look at me. I never thought he was "the one", but he was my first love. You can't forget your first love. I look up momentarily and see a figure walking towards me. Thinking it was one of the girls, I continued to cry in my hands. I felt a hand press against my shoulder.

"Shhh, hey, are you okay?" The voice was defiantly not from a teenage girl. More like a boy. I look up quickly and squint to make out the face in the dim lighting. I stand up suddenly when I know it's no one I know.

"U-Uh. I'm fine, thanks." I sniff and wipe my cheeks." When he stands to the light, I notice right away that I did, indeed, know this boy. How could I forget? "Hey, um, yeah I don't know your name."

"Calum. My name's Calum." He leans against my truck. Suddenly feeling embarrassed, I grab my duffel bag and throw it in the bed of the truck.

"What are you doing here so late?" I ask because you know, people don't usually stay after school until 10 at night.

"I live right over there." Calum points to a house across the street. "I was getting out of my car and I saw you crying, so I thought that the nice thing to do is to see if you were alright." He looks down at his feet and plays with his bracelet.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Thanks though." I open my door, but a hand grabs the side of it.
"I have a question." Calum says. This was kind of a creepy situation, but he was hot so it's my advantage. I turn around, facing him.
"I might have an answer." I say. He rolls his eyes at my comment but goes on.
"Why were you crying?" The scene plays in my head once again and I take a deep breath.
"None of your-"
"Business, I know." He lets go of my door and turns on his heel to walk away. He was actually being nice and I mean, he doesn't even know me.
"My boyfriend." I blurt out. He pauses and turns around.
"Your boyfriend." He repeats.
"I think he's my ex-boyfriend now. I just practically caught him cheating on me." I wipe away a tear. "I was talking to him on my phone and I hear another girls voice on his end."
"His mom?"
"Pretty sure his mom wouldn't call him babe. He claims it was his sister, Sarah, but Sarah is on my soccer team and I just saw her." I chuckle to myself at his stupidity. "He's an idiot." Calum laughs as well, but quickly stops. He clears his voice and scratches his head.
"Yeah, so, I'm gonna go. See you later, Jasmine." My eyes widen.
"No one ever calls me that." He smirks and turns around.
"Well, I just did."

--------------

The next day at school, I stayed out of the public eye. Before classes ended, I asked to use the bathroom so I could get to my classes right when the bell rang. Bella and Adri have classes with me so they helped. I didn't want to face Miles cause I don't know what I'd do. Cry, scream, beat some slut up, probably all of the above. As the lunch bell rings, I bolt to my regular table with Bella, Adri, and some of the girls from the soccer team. I stay quiet, of course. I look up and smile when someone complemented on my sweatshirt.
"Yeah she would always push me whenever I even got near the goal." Someone comments on the game from last night.
"Omg! Yeah that girl kept grabbing my jersey!" Adri adds. Bella laughs and comments on their uniforms, which were apparently very ugly.
"Definitely, but do you remember when that girl scored and lifted up her shirt right in front of me? Like excuse me?!" Bella chimes in. I smirk at her comment and finish my sandwich. My phone vibrates against my leg so I pull it out of my pocket.

Come over here.

It was from Miles. I groan and look up to where I usually sat. He was staring at me, so I quickly look back down at my phone.

No.

I put my phone away and continue listening to the girls. Someone bangs a table and when I look up I find  Miles booking it to the other side of the cafeteria. I roll my eyes. I follow him as he opens the door to exit. He was about to leave, but whips his head around at...Calum? I see Calum's lips moving, but he was too far away for me to hear him. Miles' balls his hands into fists as he stands there, listening to whatever Calum was saying.

"What did you say to me?!" Calum's lips move again, probably being sarcastic and repeating what he had just said. Seems like him. Miles grabs Calum's shirt and pulls him up to stand in front of him., due to the fact that Miles had punched him in the jaw. Calum stumbles back, but quickly regains his balance and swings his fist into Miles' gut. Miles' groan could be heard through the whole room. Miles grabs his stomach, but Calum pulls his head up by his hair and slams his fist into Miles' face. I gasp for the hundredth time. I quickly join the crowd that has formed around them and push past people to get to the front.

"MIles!" I scream. No one moves. Everyone whistles, cheering even. I look around, seeing Miles' friends laughing and pumping their fists in the air. Great. I push past the buff airheads and grab Miles' shirt. In one swift movement, I see Miles' hand fly back towards my-

"Really?! Who was there to break up the fight in the first place, huh? Where were the teachers? The lunch ladies even?" I could hear my mom's voice boom through the office. I was sitting in the waiting room with an ice pack pressed against my bruised cheek. Bella and Adri said that Miles' had hit me, which I knew. He's been texting me, claiming he didn't know who was behind him and that it was an instinct.

"Mrs. Banks, please-"

"And now my daughter is a victim! A boy hit her! Hit her! Bruised her cheek!" I hear the chair speech and the door swings open. I hear my mom's heels click against the tile as she makes her way towards me.

"So?" I was pulled to my feet and was dragged out of the office and out the front doors.

"We're pressing charges against him. No excuses." I didn't have any so I stayed quiet.
