Lucy Parrish fell through the air, the harsh wind whipping her shoulder length hair in every direction. Her appearance always seemed to vary in her dreams. In some she was a year or two older, dressed in business attire or shorter hair and a ring on her finger, in others she was younger, sporting jeans and a colorful top as her unruly long hair swung around with the wind.

Tonight was no different than any other, as the older version of Lucy fell, she could feel her environment. Broken parts of machinery cascaded down with her, accompanying her on the one way journey. They would survive the fall, become recycled parts of a new beautiful creation, but Lucy had already accepted her fate. No one was saving her from colliding with the ground, so she stopped fighting fate and closed her eyes.

Death played a disturbingly reoccurring role in Lucy Parrish's dreams. When she rested her head on her floral patterned pillow and closed her eyes, she was constantly forced to watch her own life slip past her fingers over and over again.

On some occasions her demise was somewhat peaceful, beautifully tragic as she said her final goodbyes in the arms of a blurry stranger she could not recognize but felt safe around. The mystery man would hold her close, whispering promises to find her again. He vowed to love her in every lifetime, promising to one day give her the happy ending she deserved. But Lucy never seemed to care about the speech, she just focused on his warm embrace, wondering how someone she did not know could love her so deeply it radiated out of him. The other half of her nightmares ended violent and bloody, sickeningly graphic with Lucy not even given the privilege to finish her final words before her body collided with the ground, cracking her bones, the sound so real it always startled her awake.

But they were just dreams. Dreams that never allowed her past the age of nineteen, of finishing school or pursuing her dream job, never settling down and living a long fulfilling life, but dreams nonetheless. When her eyes adjusted to the darkness of her room and her breathing stabled, Lucy was always reminded she was in her room, with Margot sleeping down the hall (if she wasn't on duty) and Gwen a phone call away, not falling from hundreds of feet in the air.
