“Dad?” Jaxon said as he walked into the hospital room with his step sister.
“Yes son?” I said as I changed Kimi’s diapers. Abigail and the twins are going home tonight. Abigail had to spend 4 days here after she woke up, to make sure the tests they ran came back negative of anything was fine with her to go home.
“Kyle has the car out front. Do you need us to take anything to the car?” Jaxon said in questioning.
“Why don't you and Mikayla take some bags down to the car? If they are too heavy just leave it. I'll take it down.” I said.
“Ok.” Jaxon and Mikayla said in unison and grabbed some bags they could lift and walked down to the lobby where the car is parked.
I had the halls lined with guards so nothing happened to my family while we prepped to go home.
“Ok my little prince and princess let's get you loaded up onto your car seats.” Just as I said that that private bathroom door that's in the room opened.
“There is my queen. You ready to go home my love?” I said in questioning as I picked up Kimi.
“I am ready to go home.” Abigail said.
Wonderful. I have all your stuff packed. You can put your dirty clothes in the bag.” I said.
Abigail nodded and did just that.

Back at home

“Come on Jax, I'll show you your room. It's next to mine.” Mikayla said the second they got out of the car.
“Ok.” Jax said.
“Jax while you get settled in think on how you want your room to look ok?.” I said in questioning.
“Ok dad.” Jaxon smiled and went inside with Mikayla.
Just as Jaxon set foot on the porch we hear someone screaming. Dog is loose. I looked over at the kennels and saw Spike, a pitbull pup who is one year old and fully grown running in Jaxon’s direction.
Jax automatically sat on the steps and looked at the pup with wide eyes.
The second spike got to Jaxon. He knocked Jaxon on his back and locked him silly. Making Jaxon laugh in joy.
“Spike!” Ace yelled as he ran up with spikes leach and collar in hand.
“Sorry boss. He slipped his collar the second the wind shifted.” Ace said.
“It's ok, this is good. We finally got him a forever home. We thought we couldn't get him a home but he waited for that one special owner. Look?” I said and pointed to Spike and Jaxon.
“Well I'll be, I have never seen. Spike like it's worth anyone.” Ace said.
“I know the 2 of us were the only ones who can somewhat control him.” I said.
“Right well hopefully he stays happy.” Ace said, making me nod and he walked away.
“Jax, this is Spike, he is a year old.” I said.
“His Spike.” Jax smiled as he rubbed Spike's belly and Mikayla looked at the door in horror from behind the door.
“Jax, you're gonna have to slow get him and your sister used to each other. Mikayla loves animals but Spike scares her.” I said.
“Wait, is he mine?” Jax asked.
“We have been trying to find him a good home but he wouldn't let anyone near him to adopt him out, but the second he caught your scent in the wind he slipped his collar and ran straight to know. He wanted a special person to be his owner, that special person being you.” I explained.
“So he is mine?!” Jax asked in excitement.
“Yes he is yours but you have to take care of him and slowly get Spike and Mikayla used to each other Spike scares her he is the only animal here she is afraid of. Don't force them to get used to each other, just slow walk him by her to get him used to her scent. Let them get comfortable with each other from afar and each day take a small step closer to get them comfortable Mikayla needs to warm up to him and see he is not a bad dog.” I explained.
“So I'm basically walking him on a leash around her and keeping him in my room till she is comfortable with him and he her scent?” Jax asked, making sure he understands.
“kind of. If Mikayla is uncomfortable, take him to another room. We just gotta take it step by step and day by day.” I said.
“Ok. Jaxon said and took Spike's collar and leash.
“We are gonna get you a new collar and leash and a bunch of new stuff later buddy.” Jax said as he put the adopted me leash and collar back on Spike.
“Ok Jax keep a distance with him and Mikayla princess point out his room and move into your bedroom till Spike is in Jaxon's room ok.” I said.
“Ok.” They said in unison.
Slowly Jax and Spike followed Mikayla keeping a safe distance for Mikayla comfort. I know she is afraid of Spike with the way he has been acting around every one who tried to take care of him. By only Ace and I could only do it. But now Jax is his owner Spike is a lot calmer and gentler, a big 360 in his attitude and demeanor.
“Ok my Queen that gets you and the twins inside.” I said to my very shocked wife.
“Shocking scene isn't it?” I asked.
“Very, a full 360 on that dog in general.” Abigail said in shock.
“I know. I said as I helped her out of the car I then got the twins and saw Mikayla and Kyle come out of the house and to the car.
“We got the bags daddy.” Mikayla said.
“Thank you princess. I said and kissed the crown of her head and took the twins and my wife inside.
