WETKITS POV
------------

my senses came back to me in tingles, and i lay still for a second, before the memory of pain floods me. my eyes jolting open and my maw separating as i let out a weak cry, pain pulsing through me as i lay on a moss bed, my breathing ragged and uneven.

Wetbelly rushes towards me and tries to nudge poppy into my mouth, trying to get me to swallow. while that this in my mouth, he grabs ragwort leaves and juniper berries, crushing them together and placed the mixture infront of my nose.

i gag, rejecting the herbs from entering my system. spitting them out.

my hearing was disoriented, so Wetbelly's pleads and begging for me to swallow made no avail, and i would turn my head away each time he pushed the herbs closer.

Wetbelly talked to a smaller cat, most likely an apprentice, then turned and dashed out of the medicine den. the apprentice leapt to my side and tried to get me to swallow the herbs like Wetbelly had tried to. though, i would keep rejecting them.

after minutes of agony, Wetbelly returns with my mother. Dandelionsroar.

upon seeing me, she broke down into sobs, darting to my side and burying her muzzle into my scruff, her tears soaking my pelt.

i whine in agony, feeling as if my organs were being ripped out of my body.

i push Dandelions away, lifting up and trying to force myself into a stand.

but when i stand, i feel as if my body isnt supporting me, and i collapse.

i turn my head to look at my back legs, my eyes squinted with pain.

where my left back leg had  been, there was now emptiness. a mere stubble where my leg started, wrapped in cobweb.

i choke a gasp, my head falling back down onto the moss bed, shock and intense pain pulsing over my body. i felt like i was spasming, my body twitching as i was too stunned to make a noise. to even cry.

Wetbelly was growing frantic, tossing herbs off the shelf, rummaging, trying to find a cure, while Dandelions and the other apprentice kept trying to get me to swallow the herbs.

i kept rejecting the herbs, until Dandelions let out a wail, and laid besides me, placing me against her stomach as she wrapped around me, holding me close.

thats when i began crying.

slow tears gently trickling down my muzzle.

whats the meaning of life?

we wake up everyday to patrol and train.

theres really no point.

is there?

i close my eyes.

and i succumb to my injuries.
