Snow

I am woken up by the electronic announcement that we are on approach to the airport. I blink carefully a few times, but when I try to move my head, I feel a weight on it. Confused, I look around until I see that Flame's head and arm are on top of me. God, it's heavy, I still can't quite believe that he's talking to me. Or that he admitted to hitting my ass. I try to wake him up, which works after a few minutes. He groans darkly and looks around confused, shit, that sound was really hot. His tired gaze lands on me, I look at him, "could you maybe?" I ask. I move slightly, and he takes his weight off me, "thanks... we're on approach." I explain to him, he nods slightly and wipes his face, the plane shakes again, and I freeze like a pillar. Fuck, airplanes aren't my thing. Flame looks at me and offers me his hand again, like he did when we took off. I take it and just stare at my feet, "It's normal to be scared, snowflake." Flame whispers, I look up and look him in the face. I force a smile.

But his gaze remains stubbornly on my face, his different colored eyes almost boring into my soul. Does he always stare like that? "Airplanes are safer than cars, the probability of having a car accident is higher." He whispers, why is he telling me that? I nod slightly, "If you're trying to distract me like that, it won't work." He tilts his head, "How do you know it won't work?" Does he really want to argue with me now? "Listen, I know myself, it won't work." He grins slightly, "Do you really believe that, snowflake?" and that nickname again, I roll my eyes. "Yes, that's never worked before," he nods slightly, "but it seems to have worked this time, because we landed." It does make a bang, but when I look out the window, we are actually on the ground. Confused, I look at him, he grins slightly. And shows me his perfect teeth and dimples again. I would love to wipe that grin off his face, "then we should get out of here, right?" He rolls his eyes and stands up, I follow him.

We gather together with the others from the college group in the main hall of the airport. Flame and I stand next to Sophia and the others and wait for the group to be complete. One of the professors clears his throat after everyone is there. "Okay, I know that they all want to rush off. But we, as a complete group, will first drive to the hotel. Then we'll get into our rooms, and then we'll meet in the lobby, take a little tour of the city and sort out the activities for this week among the different groups. For the rest of the evening, you can do whatever you want, as long as you all come back to the hotel." One of the other professors looks around the group, "got it?", the group unanimously says yes before we make our way to the bus. The professor is really strange, Sophia rolls her eyes and leans towards me. "This professor is so weird," Olivia, who also heard this, laughs quietly. "That's right, he's a total control freak anyway," I laugh quietly and pack my bag into the bus. We follow the others onto it, Sophia goes in front of me and looks longingly at the empty seat next to Tero. I grin slightly, "go to your Prince Charming." Olivia behind me laughs and sits down next to a friend of hers, so the plan to sit next to her is also ruined.

I sigh as I sink down next to Flame, he looks at me briefly. I smile slightly, "seems like I won't be getting away from you anytime soon." One corner of his mouth turns up, and he grins slightly at me. I press my lips together, "thanks for distracting me on the plane, I guess I'm really scared of flying." He nods slightly but remains silent, "I'm excited, I'm really looking forward to this week. And are you really okay with us sharing a room?" He nods at my question and leans his head against the seat, "by the way, I really think it's good that you're so cool. About Tero and Sophia," he looks at me and grins. "As you can see, you don't have to look after her 24/7, she can probably defend herself better than half the guys at college." Flame laughs quietly before his face turns serious, "you were right, I should give her her space." He whispers, I look at him in surprise, does he agree with me? I nod slightly, and it becomes quiet between us again.
