He gave Wesley another, more serious look. "Listen, I know it's not easy to accept help, but for you and your dog's sake, let me help you out. Just this once."

"Just take it from his hands already! I'm getting impatient!" Rocco said, looking at his watch.

Rolla scolds him again. "Stop acting like that, this is serious and he's trying to think over your nonsense."

Rocco groans and crosses his feathery arms. "Man, you say that alllllll the tiiiiiime! Stop this, stop that, blah blah blah, that should be your new catch-phrase."

"I never had one! And don't you dare start mocking me," Rolla barked, putting her hands on her hips.

"Guys, seriously," Wesley whispered, shrinking back a little. He felt anxious about this decision and they weren't making this any better.

The vendor brought the hotdogs closer to him, "Please, I insist. I can see that you both could use a good meal and who knows when your next one will be. Let me do this for you."

Wesley thought for a moment, though when looking into the vendor's eyes, he saw how serious he was. His stern look brought a chill down his spine, making him let out a hesitant sigh as he realized his offer wasn't a suggestion. "Alright... I guess I... do need the help..." He said reluctantly, taking the two hot dogs. Despite his thankfulness and relief in finally receiving good food, he couldn't help but feel ashamed he made the vendor pity him so much.

However, when looking into Bud's hungry, desperate eyes, he knew this was probably the right decision.

"Good job, Wes," Rolla said, patting his back with a proud look. "Now what do we say to the nice hot dog man?"

"R-right," he mumbled, shuffling a little. "Thank you for the, uh, the food. I-I admit we really needed this," he said with a soft, sheepish tone. "God bless," he added before walking away, making sure to be extra thankful. He looked at the two hot dogs in his hand and couldn't help but smile.

"God bless you too," the vendor waved, smiling as he watched Wesley and Bud walk away with their free hot dogs. He felt good being able to help someone in need, even if it was just for one day. Concerned about their well-being, it made him wonder how they live their lives day by day with so little to depend on. He could only pray that God above will be with him through his troubled life.
