Ben lay in his hospital bed, the rhythmic beeping of the machines a constant reminder of his fragile state. His eyes fluttered open and closed, haunted by the memories of the lake house and the horrors he had narrowly escaped. The images of his friends' gruesome deaths replayed in his mind, a torment he couldn't shake. The door to his room creaked open, and a nurse entered. Her expression was calm, her movements routine as she checked his chart and adjusted the IV drip. Ben watched her through half-lidded eyes, too exhausted to speak."How are you feeling?" she asked, her voice soft and soothing. But there was something off about her, something unsettling that Ben couldn't quite place. He tried to sit up, but his body felt heavy, unresponsive. The nurse smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. She moved closer, and Ben's unease grew. He tried to call out, but his voice was weak, barely a whisper. "Help..."The nurse's smile twisted into something cruel and sinister. She reached for a pillow and, before Ben could react, she pressed it over his face. His eyes widened in shock and terror as he struggled against her grip. The beeping of the machines grew frantic, mirroring his desperate fight for air.Ben's vision blurred, his movements weakening as his oxygen supply was cut off. The nurse's face transformed, her features contorting into a monstrous visage. She loomed over him, her eyes dark and empty, devoid of any humanity. His struggles grew weaker, his body succumbing to the lack of oxygen. The last thing he saw was the monstrous nurse's face, a grotesque mask of malevolence, before darkness overtook him completely. The room fell silent, the machines emitting a long, continuous beep as Ben's lifeline flatlined. The nurse – or whatever creature had taken her place – stood over him for a moment longer, ensuring he was truly gone. Then, with a flicker of movement, she vanished, leaving behind the lifeless body of the last survivor of the lake house horrors.Outside the hospital room, the night continued its silent vigil, unaware of the new tragedy that had just unfolded within its walls. The nightmare, it seemed, was far from over.
