**Hanni's POV**
I tried calling out after Minji but she ran away at the speed of sound. I couldn't help but laugh as she rounded the corner, away from my line of sight. I had to admit, that was funny. I picked myself up and went back into the flower shop.
"Hanni?!? What happened to you? Why are you so wet?"
"huh?" I looked down at my shirt which was now stained with my milk tea from Minji crashing down on me. "Oh...I guess I spilled my drink."
"Go in my office and change your shirt. I think there should be a spare old jacket back there."
I quickly took off my shirt and replaced it with an old blue jacket I found laying on a chair in the corner. I picked it up. It still looked relatively new and was definitely too small for Ms. Kim to wear. It was really soft and warm; I felt like I could snuggle in it all day long. It smelled like the calming waves of the beach. I wonder why she owns something like this. I noticed several pictures on display on the shelves of Ms. Kim and a young man. They were in a variety of places together; a park, a cruise, even them at a graduation with a young girl. I even saw incredibly old pictures of Ms. Kim, the man, and a baby. Does she have a daughter...?
To be honest, I didn't know why Ms. Kim wanted me to work here. There's like barely any customers. I get that I'm staying at her house and all, but I spend my time here just standing by at the register while she talks to the customers about flowers. It's definitely a solo-manageable job, so I feel like she's just holding me hostage. I usually spend my worktime daydreaming of various things I want to do in the future; new songs I want to write, playing at big venues all around Korea, my dad proud after seeing my success. Before I knew it, the day winded down and Ms. Kim needed me to help close down the store for the night.
"Ms. Kim, I don't mean to pry but..." I was worried that if I asked her about the pictures, she would get mad at me like how they act in the movies, but nevertheless I already started speaking, "when I was getting the jacket, I saw the photos in your office, do you have a husband and daughter?"
She stared down at me. It honestly frightened me. But to my shock, she started manically laughing, "OH THAT'S FUNNY HANNI!"
I was still confused, did I miss a joke?
"Hanni, that isn't my family! That's Minji and her dad!"
"WHAT!" I spit out my water.
"Yeah, that man in those pictures is my old friend who happens to be Minji's father!"
"Wow, I didn't know you knew Minji for so long." I was amazed, wondering what secrets she could tell me about her.
"Of course I do! I was there when she was born!"
"Damn so... you and her father must be close."
"Yeah...well...anyways, Minji is like my daughter. She reminds me so much of her father."
"How is her father?"
"He actually passed away a few years ago... but he was my best friend ever since we were students at school together. Don't bring this up with Minji though, she's still a bit sensitive when it comes to her father. They were really close."
"I-I-I see..."
I went to get a mop to clean up with the water I spit out. I beat myself up inside; I was complaining to her about my dad wanting to stay with me yet she lost her dad. What kind of insensitive person does that?
"Oh and Hanni, can you return that jacket back to Minji?"
