And so, they phased back into 6531. A month before Rosalyn's discovery of her mutation. The two friends searched and searched for the rumored rebellion, until one day they found it.
The rebellion, a group of a few called the Sapientia, was led by a man named Matthew West who had gone through the same revelation as Jacob. Matthew had welcomed them with open arms and shown them the plan his group had come up with.
"We've been gathering as much information as we can," he said. "Information about the Transition and how it started. It seems that it happened in the year of 2020 when a catastrophe had caused panic throughout the world and the World Council had slowly seized power during the chaos, claiming it could bring back peace and order. Because of the panic, the peoples of the world sacrificed their autonomy for order little by little until people became only humans with numbers and not names.
The plan is simple. We will travel back to the year 2010 and try to prevent this from happening. We have all been to the past and know how it works. Some of us have positions of influence already from our years of hiding in time. We will use this to influence the people of the past to make better decisions and hopefully, desist the Transition."
To Rosalyn and Jacob, the plan seemed solid enough. So, they prepared to leave their world behind. It broke Rosalyn's heart to leave Gefallene-Welt to suffer, but she knew that they stood a better chance if they could change the future for the better.
Everything was going so well until they were found. It was Wednesday, Drei of 6531. The day of Rosalyn's first phasing. The abandoned building they were hiding in was set ablaze by Order Corps soldiers. One of the members of the Sapientia had betrayed them and leaked the location of their hiding place to the Council.
"Everyone evacuate!" Matthew shouted. "We have to get clear of the Corps and phase quickly!"
Rosalyn and Jacob were so close to escaping the building. They were running with Matthew, with whom they had made sure everyone had made it out, and a piece of the ceiling fell towards the group. However, the only one who noticed was Jacob. Thinking quickly, the man pushed Rosalyn out of the way towards Matthew before the cement landed on them both.
"Jacob!"
The two rushed to help but were shooed away by their friend.
"Go! Matthew, take Rosalyn and get to 2010! Make sure humanity never gives away its freedoms."
"Not without you! We can't leave you!" Rosalyn cried.
"I won't last long Rosie," Jacob wheezed, "just give them a fighting chance, alright?"
Rosalyn nodded tearfully as Matthew pulled her away. They ran and ran until they found the others and phased to 2010.
