Monsters!!!

I was laying low at the hotel on the first of many supernatural adventures I would take with Sam and Dean. I can't remember the exact details, but I'm pretty sure we were somewhere in the northeastern U.S. I just remember it being mid to late summer, possibly early fall, because the weather was ridiculous. It would be boiling hot one day, but reasonably cool the next. Sam and Dean were out on a hunt (werewolves, I believe), and I had finally gotten some form of an electronic device to work. The radio station was playing classic rock, which Dean would have loved I'm sure, and there I sat on one of the two beds, working on a word search puzzle. Yes, it almost felt as if I were back home again, all alone, no one to talk to, keeping myself sheltered from the outside world. This time, however, I had something to look forward to when Sam and Dean returned from their wild adventure. No, I am not talking about the food, even though we all know how much Dean enjoys his burgers and pie. Sam had promised that when they returned, he would tell me all about their hunt. To some people, this may sound boring; it's what these boys do for a living, I get it. To someone like me, however, who never really had much contact with people after my family and friends all left, it was going to be the highlight of my day (aside from rooming with two of the hottest men on the planet, of course). I continued to work on my word search until my hand started to cramp and I suddenly felt a bit sleepy. I decided that my next course of action would be to take a nap. I woke up several hours later to complete darkness. I looked at my watch; it was about 6 in the evening. I flicked the bedside light on and scanned the room thinking the boys should have been back, but alas, I was still alone. I got up to get myself a glass of water when a knock at the door startled me. As promised, I had the shades drawn and the door locked up tight. I walked over and politely asked "who's there?" waiting for Dean to reply with our safe word. No one answered, so I asked again. When there was still no answer, I peeked through the peephole and there it was. Don't ask me exactly WHAT it was, because I honestly could not tell you, but to describe it in one word: MONSTER. I headed for the bathroom and locked myself in there, not knowing if this thing was capable of breaking down the door or if it would attempt to come through the window. I grabbed my cell phone and quietly dialed Sam's number. He answered on the first ring (thankfully) and I told him what I had just seen and asked where he and Dean were. His voice changed from happiness at the sound of my voice to worry for my safety. He asked me if I was alright and I assured him that I was for the time being, but I didn't know how much longer that would last. I heard him tell Dean to floor it and he told me they would be there in a matter of minutes. Please stay on the phone with me, I begged. I didn't want to be alone right now. Granted I was going to have to get used to it, but this was the first time I had ever experienced anything like this since Lucifer. And I thought he was bad...HA! Sam stayed on the line and kept me calm the entire time. I heard a car slowly creep into the parking lot, knowing in my heart that it was them. I asked Sam if I should hang up, to which he replied "Yes. We're here now." I waited, still a little terrified of whatever I had seen. I heard some yelling, a few gun shots, followed by a knock on the hotel room door. I couldn't bring myself to leave the bathroom just yet, but then I heard Dean's voice giving the safe word. I unlocked the bathroom door and ran to the front door, checking the peephole first to make sure it was truly them (I've seen too many shows and movies with shifters). Unlocking the front door quicker than ever, I opened it and ran straight for Sam. "No offense, Dean," I said as I nearly knocked him over to get to his brother. He just smiled and headed for the fridge as Sam scooped me up into one of the biggest hugs I have ever known. "Are you sure you're alright?" he asked me again, as he put me down and looked straight into my eyes. "Never better," I assured him, and we walked inside, closed the door behind us, and I asked him to tell me all about his day, starting with whatever the hell he and Dean had just killed for me outside that hotel room....
