I honestly have no clue exactly how long I had been sitting there in that house, all tied up with no place to go, but it felt like days. I hadn't eaten all day, nor had I gotten anything to drink, so I was starting to fade fast (plus I was super cranky). The vampires must have noticed something was off with me, and decided that it would be a good idea to work my last nerve. "What's the matter, Princess?" the head vampire asked me. "Are you starting to doubt that your knights in shining armor will even show up?" "Screw you, Lestat," I replied (yes, I went there). "I told you they always come for me. Are you sure you gave them the right address?" He just laughed. "And I told you that we just want to make peace with them, not hurt any of you. Isn't my word enough?" "The word of a vampire means what to a human like me anyway?" I was curious. "I suppose you're right," he said. "But even in life I was a man of my word. You can ask these two if you'd like. They have been with me for quite a long time." "I think I'll pass, but thanks anyway," I said. It was soon after this exchange that I heard a noise from outside the house. The vampires heard it too, and the ring leader sent his two henchmen out to investigate. When they returned, each one was carrying a Winchester brother by their shirt. "You said you didn't want to hurt them!" I screamed. "I knew I was right not to trust you and your word!" The head vampire motioned to his men to let the boys go, then turned to me and said, "I told you I have always been a man of my word. I do not intend to hurt these boys. I just want to talk." Sam rushed toward me, and to my surprise no one tried to stop him. "Are you alright, sweetie? Did they hurt you?" he asked. "I'm fine," I assured him. "Just a little hungry and dehydrated." The ring leader chimed in. "Why didn't you say something? I'm not that much of a monster, you know. I would have at least offered you a drink if I had known..." "Shut up!" Dean yelled. "Why have you brought us here? And give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill all of you right now?" I watched as Dean started to go for the inside of his jacket, and fearing something bad might happen to all three of us I screamed, "No, Dean!" Sam shot his brother a look and Dean put his hand back down, waiting for the vampire to speak up. "Like I said, I have brought you two here to talk, nothing more." "We don't usually talk to monsters," Dean said. "We usually..." "Kill them, I know," said the vampire. "That's why you're here. You are aware that there are several different types of vampires?" "I'm well aware that every single one of you are blood suckers," Dean snapped back. "Touche," the vampire replied. "Are you aware that not all of us get our blood supply from humans?" "Does it really matter?" Dean was obviously pissed. "Dean," Sam said. "Let's just hear him out. Please?" Dean looked from Sam over to me, then turned back to the vampire. "Fine," he said. "Give it your best shot." The vampire started from the beginning, explaining how his brood have always lived off the small creatures they would find in the woods, how they encountered his father years before, and how John single-handedly took out more than half of his vampire brothers and sisters because he didn't believe they could live off anything other than human blood. He also told us how they had gone into hiding after the attack, trying to avoid human contact all together since no one in their right mind could believe vampires wouldn't attack humans. I have to give Dean a lot of credit for not once interrupting or even making sarcastic faces while listening to this vampire's story. When he finally finished, he looked at Dean and said, "So it is my hope that we can call a truce. We plan to go back into hiding, but in the rare event that we ever cross paths again, I wanted to know that you would not mistake us for vampires who actually DO feed off of human blood. We have long since forgiven what your father did all those years ago and we have moved on. Can you possibly do the same or is it too much to ask?" Dean glanced over at Sam. "What do you think, Sammy? Should we trust them?" Sam looked at me. By this point, I was seriously starting to fade away fast. I needed food and hydration, and I needed it about ten hours ago. Sam turned back to Dean and said, "They kept their word and didn't hurt Sammi, with the exception of keeping her tied up and malnourished," Sam started. The vampire interrupted with, "I already stated I would have taken care of that had she said something earlier." "He did," Sam said to his brother. "Please just seal the deal and get us out of here. She needs nourishment and soon. Look at her, Dean. She's as white as a ghost." Dean looked over at me and I saw a look of worry on his face. "Fine," he said, turning to the head vampire. "But if I ever find out that you broke your end of the deal, I have the right to find you and kill you, no questions asked." "You have my word," the vampire said. He extended his hand, which Dean reluctantly shook, then motioned for his cronies to untie me. The moment I was freed, I started to fall toward the floor, but Sam caught me mid flight and pressed me to his chest. "Let's get out of here, Dean," he said. "We need to get Sammi out of here and get her some food or something." Dean took one look at me and said, "I'm no doctor, but I think she may need medical attention. I've been severely dehydrated before, and I needed an IV before they would let me touch any kind of food or drink." Forgetting that the vampires were still in earshot, I heard the ring leader say, "I apologize for not asking her if she wanted anything. Please get her the help she needs now. We are done here anyway." With that, the boys took me out to the car and frantically searched for any signs of a hospital. They finally found one about twenty minutes later. As Sam carried me into the emergency room, I managed to say "I love you" before completely passing out in his arms. I woke up several hours later, feeling much better. Dean was asleep in the chair across from my bed, Sam was sitting in a chair right next to the bed. When I opened my eyes, he took my hand in his, smiled that amazing smile of his, and said "I love you more."
