They talked away for a few hours until Tim had to leave for his presentation at Wayne Enterprise, by which time the cafe had reached its slow hour of the day, mid afternoon, way after lunch.
As Marinette worked away on piping the icing on some cupcakes a little blur flew past and took a seat on top of the pastry display case.
"Hey kid do we have any more of those cheese pastries you made?" Plagg asked eyes searching the case for his favourite snack.
"Depends how many were left yesterday?" she asked slightly amused though saw his little cat ears droop at the realisation that none were left
"There's some cooling on the rack, only a few Plagg I mean it" she called as he whizzed past like a man on a mission.
"So you and Tim" Tikki spoke taking Plagg's previous spot watching her owner,
"What about him?" Marinette asked as she filled another piping bag, twisting the top and got ready to pipe.
"Don't you think he seemed, I don't know, very interested when you were talking to that guy this morning" the kwami mentioned watching for even a slight facial change.
"Yeah I mean it was my first time getting offered a catering job he seemed happy for me"
"How about the fact his first thought was it was a date?"
"He saw me chatting with a guy and writing on something, in every movie that's someone giving someone else there number"
The god held in a groan they had been through this process once wasn't the second time around supposed to be easier.
"You're right but what guy spends his free time watching romantic comedies?" Tikki quizzed
"How about one that's been in highschool and probably has asked for a girls number at some point"
"Don't you think he seemed a little jealous that the guy asked you out?"
"Idk I mean he seemed curious if anything why?"
"Does Tim have a girlfriend?" the kwami tried, ready to hit her head against the counter
"No, he's single but he's always working"
"Yeah, but is that the only reason?"
"What are you trying to say, Tikki, that Tim likes me or something?" Marinette spoke, pausing mid cupcake.
"He seemed awfully interested in your dating life is all I'm saying" she spoke
"We're just friends, Tikki I doubt he thinks of me that way"
"What are you two talking about?" Plagg asked flying into the room a piece of cheese in hand.
"Nothing" Marinette deflected
"Tim this morning" Tikki interrupted
"You and coffee boy, he was glaring at that guy you were talking to this morning" Plagg mumbled
"He what?" Marinette asked looking to the little cat sitting on her shoulder
"Yeah looked ready to cataclysm the kid" he answered
"And he didn't try hard to deny you being his girlfriend when his brother asked" Tikki continued
"That doesn't mean he has feelings for me" Marinette responded
"He was really worried when you hurt your hand kid" Plagg intercepted.
"He was being a good friend"
The two looked at one another they had both lived through this once, to do it get, they'd need more than just luck.
