Mission || chapter 26

Robin woke up around 5:00 o'clock today, which was normally when he wakes up during the week, the younger sighed before he heard whining and crying from the floor by the door, he groggily got up and walked to the door and looked down to see both Enzo and Blitzo sitting by the door, waiting for the younger to open it so they could go eat their food.

the younger opened the door and they ran to eat their food, the younger rubbed his eyes to get the sleep out of them before closing the door again, not fully but just enough so the puppies could get back in again, the younger went back to his bed and laid down and almost instantly fell back asleep again, the speedster pulled him closer to himself and hugged him.

Enzo and Blitzo soon was done eating and they went back to the room, both of them jumping up and laying down near the younger's legs, both dogs were curled up in a little ball and they went back to sleep again, everyone else was still sleeping since it was still so early in the morning and the younger didn't want to wake up then anyways, and so that he wouldn't wake the speedster up again.

Wally woke up and yawned as he slowly sat up and stretched, the speedster noticed Robin was gone and he got up to look for him, the speedster rubbed his eyes to get the sleep out of them as he ran to the kitchen and seen the younger was in fact there, "morning Birdie, how was your sleep?" asked the speedster as he sat down on a stool.

"morning and my sleep was good, how was yours carrots?" replied the younger as he turned to the speedster and leaned on the counter, "mine was good, although i had to change Enzo and Blitzo's pee pads at like 3 in the morning." said the speedster as he yawned, "oh, sorry that i didn't do it freckles." said the younger as he sighed and glanced at the counter.

"thanks though." added the younger right after, "no problem, Birdie." said the speedster as he smiled softly and ran behind the younger and hugged him tightly, the younger smiled softly and tried to pry the speedster off him, "let go already!" said the younger as he stifled a laugh, "hmm, maybe no!" said the speedster as smiled teasingly and tightened his grip, the younger then tripped the speedster.

"ow." mumbled the speedster as he got up, "that wouldn't have happened if you let me go, now you know to listen when i ask you to let me go." said the younger as he smirked, the speedster smiled and quickly picked the younger up and ran to his room, "freckles!" said the younger annoyed as he tried to squirm out of the speedster's hold, but failed.

"you thought that i would listen?" said the speedster teasing as he smiled and gently dropped the younger on his bed, "it was worth a shot." said the younger as he sighed before pulling the speedster on his bed and cuddled him close, "its okay though." mumbled the younger as he sort of flopped on top of the speedster, who smiled and ruffled the younger's hair.

the speedster slowly ran his fingers through the younger's hair, when suddenly they were all urgently called out and they quickly left the younger's room, following after the others and seen Black Canary with Batman waiting by the computer, "what is it sir?" asked Kaldur worriedly and urgently, but more urgent than worried yet still a hint was showing.

"there has been a breakthrough by a new villain, he calls himself the 'Plague' and he was supposedly a hero in world war 2 and is still alive but he later became a patient at Arkham Asylum, he somehow managed to make himself stronger and escape the Asylum." said Batman in his husky and calm yet deep voice as Black Canary showed some video footage of him.

"wow, he looks like those old plague doctors except creepier, what exactly does he do?" said Artemis creeped out yet curious, "he makes serums that infects people to do his bidding, brainwashing them like scarecrow, except more twisted like the Joker." explained Black Canary as she showed more footage to the young team.

"okay so basically this new villain that calls himself the 'Plague' is a mix between Scarecrow and the Joker mixed with himself?" said Connor which both the adults sighed and nodded, "unfortunately yes, but his serums do not last very long, he also created the serum that got Wally and made more, he modified it so it'll be more intense." said the blonde woman as she crossed her arms.

"so all we have to do is fight this villain, make sure not to get infected by his serums and make sure he gets back to Arkham Asylum?" said Robin, Batman nodded and the young team nodded back and quickly changed into their suits and got ready, "Wally-" the younger was cut off by the other, the younger sighed and huffed at him.

"before you say anything, i'll make sure i wont get effected by his love serum and if i do than you have every right to be mad at me and i will apologize in advance just in case, so im sorry if i get effected by it." said Wally as he turned to look at the younger, who stayed quiet before smiling softly and he hugged the speedster before they left.

the young team quickly made it to the place where this new villain was, they split up to cover more ground, "this abandoned train station is making me feel like this guy likes the old times." said Kaldur through the mind link, "i mean he was part of the 2nd war and somehow is still alive but managed to make serums or something and made himself younger." said Artemis back through the mind link.

"guys i may have-" the speedster cut himself off with a groan as he held his head in pain since he stepped on something to trigger the trap and some mist came out of the ground, "Wally? are you okay?!" asked the younger worried, "i accidentally triggered one of his traps and was sprayed with something, i don't know what it was." replied the speedster as he stood up again since he kneeled down.

"why is it always you, never one of us just you." said Artemis, "i don't know why! all i know is that im in pain and i feel weird!" said the speedster, sounding slightly upset that he was the only one effected, "what do you mean weird, Wally?" asked the younger as they tried to find the speedster, once they found him they exited the station.

"i feel- like i need to just- like i need you but i always feel like that, except now its worse, way worse." said the speedster as he held his head, "and i feel sick, but not in a way that i need to throw up or anything." added the speedster, once the younger heard those words leave the speedster's mouth his heart dropped, he knew what he was effected by and couldn't help but blame himself.
