Side Affects || chapter 27

the young team had to quickly finish this mission without Wally so that his condition wouldn't get any more serious if it could and so that he could get help after, "Wally im sorry-" Robin started but was cut off by the speedster, "Birdie it isn't your fault, its mine cause i once again wasn't careful enough to watch where i was stepping." said the speedster as he turned to look at the other.

"but if i hadn't mentioned anything maybe you wouldn't have jinxed yourself." said the younger as they made it back safely to the base, "Birdie stop trying to take the blame and let me take it, this isn't your fault at all, none of what happened is but mine." said the speedster as they walked through the zeta tubes to see Batman and Black Canary waiting for them.

"how did it go, was it successful?" asked Batman, "well yes, but Wally was effected by the Plague's love mist or gas again." replied Kaldur, the man turned his head to the speedster, who smiled nervously at him and shrugged, "i'll call a doctor to help." said Batman rather flatly as he sighed and he walked away to call someone to help the speedster out.
[ im sorry about the change of Bruce's yk like- idk but the guy does care ]

"what are your so far known symptoms exactly?" asked Black Canary worried yet curious, "well i feel more attached to Birdie, i feel sort of sick but not like throwing up or anything like that type sick if that makes sense." said the speedster rather confused about what he was trying to explain, "it doesn't but it's something i guess." said the blonde lady as she shrugged.

"although the first part does, so on a scale how much would you say it increased from where it was before?" asked Black Canary, "well at first it was at least a 4 out of 10 if thats what its out of, and it went from that to at least a 7 almost 8 it feels like." replied the speedster as he did little gestures, to which the blonde woman nodded and wrote something down on a notepad that she had.

"is that it?" asked the speedster curious, "well do you have any other symptoms that you know of?" asked Black Canary as she looked up at the speedster, "no i dont think so, i'll let you know when i find out more." replied the speedster as he stood up and smiled before leaving to his room, Black Canary sighed as she turned to see Batman.

"that kid really needs help, he was already affected twice now by love toxins, the 2nd one stronger than the first." said Black Canary as she pinched the bridge of her nose, "i know, but he refuses to go to the hospital or any other place to get help, and i cant find anyone yet." said Batman as he sighed and nodded, Black Canary sighed again.

"um- i can try? i know im not a professional doctor but i might be able to see whats going on in his head." said Megan quietly as she enters the room, both Black Canary and Batman look at eachother before nodding, "sure you can give it a shot." said Black Canary with a smile as Megan grinned and nodded before floating off to the speedster's room.

Megan knocked quietly on his door, Wally opened the door and he had paint splatter all over himself, "i accidentally spilled paint on myself, do you need anything, Megan?" asked the speedster as he smile and chuckled lightly, Megan giggled and nodded with a smile, the speedster allowed Megan to enter his room and he quickly cleaned up, changing his shirt in the process too.

"so i know this is none of my business but i was wondering if i could take a quick look in your mind? just so Batman and Black Canary know whats actually going on in there, also dont worry i'll try not look into your memories." said Megan, sounding hopeful for the speedster to agree, "i guess, yeah you can." said the speedster with a smile, Megan smiled back widely.

"great! if you could sit down, close your eyes and relax for a moment." said Megan, the speedster did as the martian told her, closing his eyes as he sat down on his bed, the martian then went up to the boy, slowly she lifted her hands close to his head and she closed her eyes and focused on trying to to look through the speedster's mind and what he was feeling.

Megan's eyes opened and they were glowing white, she entered into the speedster's mind, she took glimpses through his more recent thoughts and emotions, she could feel his heart beating at a rapid speed before digging a bit deeper, finding the feelings of love, joy and happiness more than the negative ones and she was relieved that he wasnt feeling sad or angry.

Megan dug a bit deeper and she found the feelings of lust and arousal for a moment before it went away, after a few more minutes she found the memory of the mission he was first affected on, she could feel the amount of pain he had felt then and winced in pain at the feeling of it but she then felt his sudden strong feelings and temptation towards Robin.

Megan tried to pull away until she finally did, however she suddenly found a memory that she didn't mean too, the curiosity got the better if her and she looked through it, not realizing that it was something rather private and she seen the quick glimpses of Robin underneath Wally, she tried not gag and retch at the sight and the sudden change of emotions.

Megan then started to look into the team's recent mission when the speedster was affected again, trying to find out what the speedster was feeling and his side affects, she could feel the same strong love and temptations to the younger but it was stronger, way stronger than before, the pain was also there when he was affected by it but it was long gone now, she looked for some side affects, finding the ones that they knew of and one more.

the martian tried to look deeper into the side affect, she could sense the feeling of jealousy, huge waves of it appearing from no where as she seen glimpses of someone else other than himself interacting with the younger, she also felt a few waves of either fear or perhaps anger even, she tried to look deeper but she couldn't, as if something was blocking her way.

Megan knew not to look to far or press on since it would cause both of them pain, so she finally let go of Wally's mind, she felt weak but not weak enough that she couldn't do anything, "sorry i took long, i had a few struggles and something was blocking me from looking further into the side affects." said the Martian, "its fine, we can try another time." said the speedster as he yawned, the martian nodding.

"good night Wally." said Megan with a soft smile as she left the speedster alone after that, heading off to her own room to get ready for bed, "night Megan." mumbled the speedster before he quickly left to the younger's room, he peeked in but nobody was there, he was confused at first before he thought if where he probably was and quickly headed to the gym room.
