Surabhi's POV

"Bhargavaaa!!!! Bhargava wake up", I heard someone call loudly and snapped my eyes open. The sudden rush of light made me squint my eyes even if it was just early morning and finally my eyes fell on Janaki who was at the foot of the bed looking scared. I immediately tried to get up but felt a huge weight on me and looked down to see Bhargav sleeping my chest peacefully. Even though I loved how beautiful he looked when he was sleeping, I woke him up by shaking him and calling out his name. "What do you want, Janaki? Leave us alone!", he mumbled. I looked up at Janaki and saw how she was about to burst into tears.

I pushed him from above me and slapped his chest making him open his eyes and look at me while smiling. I tilted my head to the side asking him to see Janaki looking like she was about to cry. As soon as his eyes fell on her, he sat up in a flash and got out of the bed to go hold her. "What happened, Janaki?", he asked as I kept rubbing her back trying to calm her down. "Our uncle and his whole family have left last night with no one knowing about it", she said making me face palm myself. After everything we told them they decided to do exactly what we had asked them not to do.

"Last night I did not see any of them anywhere and I thought they were just very ashamed to face anyone but even before it got dark, they have left the palace, Bhargav. What if whatever danger you are talking about finds them?", she cried in her brother's arms. He looked at me and I knew what I had to do. I nodded and got out of the bed, took a quick shower and walked out the meet out soldiers. "Maharaj has ordered for a search party. Go looking for his extended family who were here with his family. It is a man, his wife and their four children that you need to find", I said and left after giving details about their appearance.

The first thing I noticed after walking back to the palace was how there was no time with anyone. And that reminded me that my whole family would be arriving today. But again, there was no time to worry about that too. I had a lot of things to take care of before finding some time to get scared about meeting them after almost five years. "Ask the attendees in the kitchen to make sure that all the dishes should be as I had directed them to be. Last night before I retired for the day, I had given clear instructions about how much spice and other stuff should be added to the dishes. Make it very clear that the dishes have to be exactly as I have directed".

I turned to another attendee and asked her to change a few things in the decorations. Bhabhi was allergic to marigold flowers. I made sure to not leave even one flower of that kind in their chamber. I personally visited each and every chamber and checked if they would need anything else. Everything was done. It was all set. All I had to do was to think how I would have to control myself when I would see them for the first time after such a long time. I lost focus of what I was doing and only came back to earth when I saw I had hurt myself because of the knife I was holding. I put my wounded finger in my mouth and winced because of the pain as I walked back to my chamber.

When I reached my destination, I saw how Bhargav was not there. I guessed he was getting ready for the important day and walked into the library. I picked up a random book to pass time until afternoon which was when they would be arriving as I had no other work in the palace. The delay of three nights had given the attendees enough time to prepare for everything needed. I started reading the first page of the book but by the end of the page, I realized how none of the words I was reading was actually going into my head. I sighed and closed the book to relax on the chair. I closed my eyes and the first thought was a prayer to God to not let anything happen to Sunaina and her family.

Three days ago, when we had gotten the news of my family's delay in arrival, we had made sure to protect them and Bhargav's family. But we had somehow forgotten the fact that that delay had given Sunaina's parents to plan some other thing to set her up with Bhargav. That night, Sunaina spent in the Ashram and the next she returned with Guruji. Her parents were very angry at her and it showed in the way they scolded her. They were not one bit relived that she was back and in no danger.

That day was very eventless. Same old preparations and pending works. Maharaj even went out to meet some people. But the real turn of events started when he came back to the palace in the evening.

Three days ago....

I was looking at the ancient laws and regulations of Rishabhapriya when I heard someone run into my chamber out of breath. I looked up from my bed and saw Sunaina who had tears running down her face and hair all over her face. I immediately got up from the bed and walked to her and made her sit on a nearby chair. "What happened, Sunaina?", I asked as worry grew in me. "They are making me do it tonight, Pranahita. They have mixed some herbs in his food and he just had his dinner. They are making me do it", she cried loudly making my stomach squeeze uncomfortably.

"Do as I say. Come with me to my library and stay there with me. I will make sure no one finds us", I was about to pull her there when she pulled me towards herself and shouted, "DON'T YOU GET IT??!! They have mixed the flowers from the enchanted forest of Simhaswasa in his food!!", my eyes widened and I gasped loudly. I knew they were greedy but making their own daughter do something so disgusting was beyond shameless. I nodded and asked her to stay in the library for the night and she obeyed me. I closed the door of my chamber behind me and asked the guards to make sure no one entered it.

"Even if it is a life and death situation, do not open the door. Say that I told you so as I am inside resting after a hectic day. No one should know about her being there. Do I make myself clear?", they nodded and bowed. I walked quickly to Maharaj's chamber and hesitated to knock on the door. One thing I observed that the guards were nowhere to be seen. I thought something was wrong and opened the door and ran inside to meet with an empty chamber. "Maharaj! Where are you?", I called loudly but got no response. I checked the library and saw no one there. I was walking towards the bathing area when I heard water splashing and ran to go see what it was.

There, I saw him sitting in the pool of water, shaking as Chetan kept pouring ice water around him. "Go away, Surabhi", he said. Chetan looked up at me and gave a sad expression.

"Maharaj-"

"FOR GOD'S SAKE LISTEN TO ME ONCE IN THIS LIFETIME AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!", he yelled all of a sudden making me shiver in fear.

I looked at Chetan and he stood up and said he was going to go find more cold stuff for him. I followed him and asked him how bad it was. "Very bad, I fear. I think they have added a whole flower to his food, Rajkumari. There is no way he will survive this without getting some sort of.... relief. I know I shouldn't have but I also suggested that I would bring someone from the brothels but he is being stubborn. He is saying that is this won't work, he will go back to his old hut near the Ashram and meditate there until the effects of the flowers reduces".

I nodded and asked him to retire for the night. He knew what was up and did not question anymore. "I will stay out of the chamber but very near. I won't let anyone near the chamber. At any moment you need something, just call for me", he said and left. I turned around and took a deep breath. I knew what I had to do to help him. But I did not know if he wanted it or not. His body was literally begging for touch but I did not know if he would have been ready for it if he wasn't drugged. But I was ready to do anything for him. I walked back to the bathing area and looked at him clenching his jaws, fisting him hands and closing him eyes tightly.

I removed all thoughts about everything else and walked to the entrance of the pool. The water turned colder and colder as I walked towards him. His eyes snapped open as soon as he heard the splashing of water and he groaned as if in pain and weakly mumbled, "Please, Surabhi, just leave. You have no idea-"

"I know what has happened", he looked up at me with his tear filled red eyes," let me help you".
