Clara
I'm freaking out. I am not even going to lie when I say that I was jumping with joy in my apartment after Spencer sent me that text about dinner. I just got done with a twelve hour shift and i was jumping. I should have been crashed out in bed but yet there i was freaking out like some teenage girl who just got asked out by her crush.
I stand in the mirror now going back and forth between a black and red dress, holding each up to my body again and again. I give into the black dress and slip it on over my body. However i can't help but wonder if the red dress will look better. So now i'm throwing the black dress on my bed and slipping on the red one.
"Ugh." I sigh still standing in the mirror staring at my body. I pick my phone up off the dress and call Annie.
"Black or red?" Is the first thing that leaves my mouth when she answers.
"Is that for that date with the one hottie from the other day?" I tell her yes and she makes a thinking noise.
"You still got the dark purple one?" I pull the phone from my ear and dig through my closet pulling out a purple dress that I haven't worn in months, well i haven't worn any of these dresses in months.
"Yeah, but for a date?" I ask holding the dress back to get a better look before sitting down on my bed in just my underwear and bra.
"Trust me Clara. That dress does wonders for you. It's your color." I tell her i'll try it on and she gives a snide remark and hangs up. Classic Annie move.
I put in the dress and stand in the mirror once more. I'm about to start sweating if i keep this up. I hate to admit that Annie was right, this dress does look the best in my opinion. I hope Spencer can agree. I haven't felt this nervous in a long time. I sit by the window like kid waiting for him to pull into the driveway, the sound of the ticking clock makes my nerves go crazy. The longer I wait the more anxious I get. As soon at the clock strikes 7:30 there he is, pulling up in his car.
I wait to see what type of guy he is, as much as I would love to race out the door. I refrain. When the lights of his car turn off I smile ear to ear knowing he's coming up to my door. He walks fast. He carry something in his hands too. He's coming up to my door with flowers. Awe.
He got me flowers! There's a knock on the door and I eagerly jump up to open it, greeting him with a huge smile.
"Hi." I say analyzing his outfit. He's wearing a charcoal gray button up with black pants. I look back up to his face and that's when i notice it. A purple tie.
"We match." I continue to smile and point to my dress. He smiles too.
"We do. Except I have to say I think you look better." He hands me the flowers. "These are for you." The bouquet is beautiful, it has little white flowers and red roses. It's gorgeous. I invite him inside while i find a vase for the flowers very quickly.
"Sorry for the mess." I apologize for my cluttered living room. I have blankets and pillows everywhere from babysitting my niece last week, I just never had time to clean up I guess.
He shakes his head telling me it's no problem. He pics up a frame sitting on my end table.
"You have kids?" I turn to him and can't help but laugh. He looks absolutely gagged.
"Niece." I correct him and it's like a weight was lifted off his shoulder.
"Not into girls with kids?" I joke with him and he's quick to say it's not that. Just didn't see me like the type to have kids yet i suppose. He's not wrong, my life is all over the place.
