"Young people today are sicker than ever. Kurono, prepare the bath."
"Yes sir."
Y/N walked next to Chisaki and Kurono in silence. Kurono had taken Eri away from Y/N earlier so he was holding her, though he was more gentle than Chisaki, she still didn't trust him in the slightest with Eri.
At the moment though, she was lost in thought and yet hyper aware about everything. Her surroundings and the fact that she was probably going to die.
The interaction with those heroes were close, way too close.
She couldn't let that happen again.
The green haired boy's smile was nice.
"I'm real sorry boss, I swear, I-I barely took my eyes off her!"
Y/N lifted her eyes up, looking at the man who was basically begging for his life. A recent recruit that was here to reclaim an important heirloom that belonged to his family or something like that.
Y/N didn't talk to him all that much or know anything about him really, she met him maybe three days ago and was partnered with him only for today, but he shouldn't have been there.
He might as well have been an innocent kid, he wasn't here for any selfish desire, he wanted to help his family out.
He was gonna die.
Why didn't he listen?
She told him to stay hidden.
"THE KID MADE A BREAK FOR IT!" He screamed, flinching when he saw Chisaki move his hand.
Y/N looked away, hearing the nauseating sound of flesh and bone shredding and cracking, turning into blood on the wall. She heard his body fall limp, hitting the ground, hard. She felt the blood on her, it must have spattered when his body fell.
"And clean that up, this is maddening." Chisaki groaned, already breaking out in a rash or hives from the use of his quirk. "They're all infected with hero syndrome."
"Right." Kurono replied.
Y/N didn't move, barely registering the mess that was caused by Chisaki. Blood, skin, muscle, organs. Everything... Everything was exposed, he had been killed off so quickly.
Why didn't she die?
There was blood on her shoes. There was blood on her face and body. There was blood on the back of her hand.
She walked away.
Y/N tried her best to ignore the faint sound of Eri, her silent crying as she closed her eyes and covered her ears only added to the guilt.
Eri probably blamed herself and Y/N wanted to tell Eri that it wasn't her fault.
Y/N told her to run away and all she did was listen.
"Y/N clean yourself up after we're done here " Chisaki started, grappling her out of her thoughts.
"Yes sir." Y/N nodded, taking Eri away from Kurono so he could clean up the dead body. She took Eri's hand and continued to follow Chisaki, though she made sure to tightly hold onto her hand well enough that she couldn't run away.
"And Y/N?" Chisaki called, making Y/N tense up again.
Y/N looked at Chisaki with a straight face, though her lungs felt like they were burning up.
"Try not to misplace Eri next time." Chisaki chuckled, giving her a close eyed smile. As if it was no big deal.
As if Eri was some object that one could lose.
