"Sorry, it was a total oops," Togata explained, apologizing to Nighteye and Bubble girl. Midoriya didn't add anything to the conversation at first, just quietly standing in the light rain with everyone else near the traffic light.

Midoriya was still hung up on Eri and Y/N.

"I mean wow, what are the odds of randomly running into a target on the street like that?"

"No, I must accept responsibility," Nighteye defended as he put his hand up. "I should have used foresight on you two, it's my fault."

"I'm just glad you guys are okay, you two could have been in danger if he suspected something." Bubble girl smiled.

"It didn't feel all that scary to me-" Midoriya stated, almost immediately getting interrupted by Nighteye.

"Chisaki and his gang were involved in a recent traffic accident caused by a group of hoodlums. Which isn't remarkable in it of itself except that there were zero casualties." Nighteye huffed out, fixing his glasses before continuing.

"The thieves experienced intense pain and lost consciousness, but they were uninjured and even reported that preexisting ailments such as rheumatism and cavities were completely gone."

Now that was a head turner, for both Togata and Midoriya.

"The authorities believed Chisaki's quirk may have been responsible, but with the villains caught and nobody harmed, there was no crime to accuse him of."

"The money that was stolen burned up so there was nothing left to recover, the police didn't find any sign of a crime in that regard either but the whole thing seems suspicious so the Nighteye agency began watching the hassaikai. We haven't figured out what it is yet but we know they're up to something." Bubble girl explained to the two interns.

They were all about to get ready to cross the street, Nighteye leading the way before Togata remembered something.

"Oh, I forgot." Togata started. "Sir, we got lucky, at least a little. Our brief encounter yielded some new intel, Chisaki, he has a daughter."

"A daughter?" Mighteye questioned, his eyebrows raising at the thought.

"A little girl who he called Eri, her limbs were all wrapped in bandages. I don't know anything else about her but she was asking for help." Midoriya added as he was reminded of the way she looked.

It hurt him, the way she violently shook in his arms. It genuinely made him feel terrible.

"Not only that," Togata added, raising his hand to ask if he could continue. "There was another girl, a young adult I believe, that he called Y/N."

Nighteye furrowed his eyebrows at the name, it sounded familiar. Too familiar for it to be a coincidence and yet, he couldn't remember where he recognized the name.

"What was so important about her?" Nighteye finally asked.

"I don't know, she was just the one that showed up first, trying to get Eri back before Chisaki came, I don't know anything else about her. She could be Eri's mother? Or maybe her sister, but who knows." Togata shrugged.

Midoriya pondered on the thought as he looked down at the concrete sidewalk. Someone as soft-spoken as that girl was willingly working for the hassaikai? It sounded suspicious to say the least. Was she learning some family trade? Or was it more sinister than that?

She was also shaking.

Midoriya quickly looked up in a panic as he remembered that fact. He hadn't mentioned anything about her yet, she also looked scared, even worse than Eri.

Y/N hadn't asked for help like Eri had, however he could tell at the moment when Chisaki came out of the alleyway that she was in fear. The same when he silently threatened to harm them. She hadn't said anything, but the way her eyes looked for a few seconds, the way she clung on the back of Eri's dress gave her away.

"What's wrong?" Togata asked, watching Midoriya's face contort into an almost mournful expression.

"Y/N... Was also scared. She didn't ask for help... Probably because he was threatening to get violent before."

Togata sighed, slowly thinking about it. He could tell she was also scared, however he didn't want to try and grab her and Eri, they didn't have enough backup for something like that.

What were they supposed to do at that moment?

"There must be something we can do to protect them-"

"I won't let your arrogance interfere with this case." Nighteye threatened.

Midoriya flinched at the way Nighteye addressed him, how he pointed his finger at him as if he should have known better than to even utter a comment like that. It was nerve-wracking for him to be here.

Why did he pick this internship again?

"... But sir,"

"Haste won't help the situation, you take your time pursuing a target. If you rush, they are that much more likely to escape. You're not so special that you can save whoever you want whenever you want."

Midoriya stayed quiet after, just looking down in defeat while Togata lightly patted his back. Midoriya knew he meant well, he was willing to teach him after all but he couldn't help but feel that Nighteye hated him.

"We've asked other agencies to team up with us, we must first predict our opponents moves and then make preparations to face them." Nighteye continued. "Good intentions alone aren't enough to save the world, the wisest villains hide in the shadows, so in order to find them, we must watch and wait."

Togata nodded. The two of them would be patient, just like they were with every mission.

"The two of you should head back into the office today, bubble girl, lets go."

"Yes sir."

And so, both Mirio Togata and Izuku Midoriya watched as the two pro's walked off. The first day of Midoriya's work study had now ended, unfortunately leaving him with a sick feeling in his stomach.

He knew he wouldn't be able to focus on anything else but those two. Eri and Y/N, he just wished they were okay.
