The day was moving by fast as many sinners were going about their day at this point in time. The morning sky had past into a mid day one, not letting anyone waste away their day as light flooded every corner of the Pride Ring.
At the V Tower, Vox was standing in his room, contemplating the incident from a few weeks ago. Since the incident with Val destroying the lab not only put a large dent into the operation's progress, but Phoenix hasn't returned to the V Tower since that day. He kept an eye on the camera by their base, but there hasn't been any movement at all, only Meria stopping by from time to time.
Vox knew the situation was bad, if there was a moment that he would lose the one dealing with the chemical side of the ordeal, it would definitely be the worst possible one. He had to find a way to fix the situation he was in and fast, as to not slow down the progress even more.
"Blackmail? No, that caveman didn't even use a decent phone until I gave one to her, I don't have anything that I could use," Vox questioned to himself while options rushed threw his head.
He already tried other options to find information about her, like sending his employees over to the Border Zone to talk with her employees. All of them only had really nice things to share from personal experience and rumors. Hell, the worst thing Phoenix has done was forgetting to pay the bar tab after a night out.
He suddenly noticed his phone on his desk and realized in horror what the most effective option would be. He would prefer stabbing his own hand that this idea, but this was a desperate situation and there weren't any better options left on the table. For once in his life, he would have to actually seek out spending time with the bird.
He takes a deep breath and opens the message app on his phone.
"Hey, do you happen to be busy today?" he typed out and sent.
He was more than ready to throw his phone threw the window and erase all traces of that message, he took another deep breath and sat back down to wait for an answer while reconsidering blackmailing once again.
In the basement of their base, Phoenix was hard at work making their own drugs for shipment. They went down there right after the fight with Valentino, throwing themselves into their work as a distraction, but the event was playing fresh in her mind. She knew she had to go back and start again at some point, and she wasn't ready to tell Kiwi or Pepper about what happened.
"Maybe I should just suck it up and go back already," she mumbled to herself.
After making another batch of meth, Phoenix stood up, stretching their wings and arms as the door was heard opening upstairs.
"Mr. Flare, are you home?" Meria shouted through the home, stepping inside more.
"Yeah, give me a second," Phoenix says back, going up the stairs towards a hatch in the ceiling. Pushing it open, Meria came into view, a worried look on her face. "Hey, what can I do for you?"
"Sir, are you sure you're okay? You haven't been yourself since you got home," Meria stated, worried for Phoenix's well being.
"Don't worry about it, I've been handling it just fine," Phoenix says, patting Meria on the head.
"You know you're a bad liar right? You only make an excess of drugs when you're upset," Meria says back, placing a hand on her shoulder, "You can talk to me if you need to."
"I'll tell you soon, I promise," Phoenix says, turning to his desk chair, his jacket laid folded on top.
"Get the guys to swing by and grab everything down there," Phoenix continues, grabbing their jacket and putting it on, "We should be good for three weeks with that supplies."
