Your PoV:

This is going to end badly.

"Here comes the A-Train"

Why is A-Train here, I was supposed to be supervising Translucent. Where's Translucent, we had this planned for months. When I find him I am going to murder him! This kid is dying.

"My man, how you doing? Look, I brought you something."

You can see the disappointment on the kid's face. I've got to do something.

"Thanks?" the kid whispers confused as this wasn't what he wished for.

"YEAH!" Shut up A-Train you are making a fool of yourself. I'm going to stop this as this is fucking ridiculous.

"Hi Colby, right" All eyes turn to me. "Translucent sent me to see you as he wanted to give me something to you."

I walk towards his bed, nudging A - Train away as he poses there.

"Is it okay if I sit on the edge of your bed?" Colby nods slowly. I sit down making sure not to sit on his legs. "He wanted me to give you this."

Reaching out I untie the necklace hanging around my throat and I place it in his hand.

"He wanted me to give you this. It was a bullet shot at him when he was kidnapped by terrorist in Guatemala. During his time there he was fighting and only relied on his own hope that the other members of the Seven would come rescue him," I smile at Colby as he looks at me "He knows your fighting now and he's sorry he can't be with you at this moment in person as he's rescuing other little boys trapped by a terrorist organisation. But he wants you to remember that he's always with you even when he's out of your site."

Poor kid, if I read his files right on my way here he has only a couple days to live and Translucent could get himself out of whatever hangover or drug induced haze he's in to be here.

I reach out to Colby placing my hand on his cheek. He leans it to it as tears fall down his face.

"Do you want me to tell you a secret but you have to promise not to tell anyone?" Colby nods again.

"Everyone leave the room, I want to show Colby here something including the video cameras. This is for Colby's eyes only." I smile at him as people start to shuffle out. "Including you A-Train, I'll talk to you later. Make sure to turn the lights off on your way out."

Once everyone has left the room, the lights are off and the doors shut behind them.

"Colby do you want to see the universe?" He smiles slightly nodding at me.

"Watch." I place my hands together and pull at the fabric of our existence.

At the matter which makes up time and space.

Molding it in my hands like a child does with play dough or a baker does with bread.

Till the matter in my hand is both as hot as the sun's burning rays and as cold as the deepest untouched reaches of the universe. It burns with every colour in existence. Constantly moving pulsing as if its alive.

Colby's face is alive with wonder. His eyes transfixed on the matter in my hands. "What is that?" His voice alive with confusion.

"This is Hope," I release it into the hospital room "It is what the universe is made of."

Hope dances around the room leaving trails of stardust and the bursts of multicoloured nebulas. Splitting into thousands of pieces as it continues to dances as if alive.

"Hope is what keeps the world going around. What gives people the ability to go on even when the way gets tough. What gives supes their power. What gives humans their ability to dream? What do you wish for Colby, it can be anything even the impossible?"
