Heartbeat - Get A Room

The classroom was almost empty, most of the drones having either went home or with Sarah. The WDF leader leaving in a panic after the worrying sound of some distant explosion rumbled its way through the colony. Now only two workers still in the room. Zane and Emily, both of which were currently sitting on one off the tables next to each other and trying to catch their breath.

Of course, and luckily too. No one was watching this. Even Lizzy, who was someone that had a near unnatural ability to find and spread gossip, rumours and various other such things. The colony wide myth of the Grim Freezer, the ghoul who inhabits the cryo chambers and steals the socks from those who had just been uploaded into a new body. She was otherwise busy, unable to get a hold on something that would of probably either collapsed or reforged the social hierarchy that the teens of outpost 3 had. Said something was that, Emily and Zane's relationship was a bit further along then shown.

"Zane!.. you, you got saliva on my shirt." Emily lightly complained to Zane as she got up from her seat on the table. The short girl trying to dry off the small mark with more of the shirt. Scrunching it up, while still wearing it. Obviously, since they had only kissed. More like made out but that was just kissing, at least that was what Emily was thinking. She may of slightly renounced, altered her beliefs. Those which were carried along by the cross necklace she wore, but it wasn't like the girl had done something disastrous. Lizzy hadn't caught them, her mom didn't know and Zane was satisfied as well. Final Girl was in the clear, if a little lightheaded from her first kiss.

"Oh, whoops I guess. Plus that was your fault more then mine. I didn't expect you to be that clueless on how making out works." Zane chuckled after he spoke, a small and barely noticeable grin on his face as he waited. Patiently, for her to go.

Emily frowned at him, trying to show an act of annoyance at her boyfriend. Only to fail as the blush marks on her visor betrayed the truth. A second later she tried a proper counter to the accusation, even if he was correct.

"Well.. uhh, you kinda just... Did most of it yourself honestly?" Being this confused was not helping her case. Final Girl, losing a debate over a kiss, unheard of. She was supposed to be good at those, even to the point that she had at one point silenced Lizzy's rampant mythmaking with cold hard facts. Only to be laughed at after the pink eyed girl displayed a nerd emoji over her visor, of course. A week later and some strong cajoling from a few others of the class. Lizzy had apologized.

Zane was far worse of a debater then she was, but Emily was still mostly overrun with various other emotions and thus wasn't in the right headspace for effective thinking. More so with how she could still taste some of his left over saliva in her mouth, saliva wasn't sweet typically but maybe attraction was blurring reality. Just a tiny bit.

"Yeah, and your the one who reads adult fiction but still can't kiss." Zane pretend pouted for a second before picking up Emily's bag from the floor and handing it to her.

"Here, said you only had some time to spare so... go." Zane gestured towards the classroom's front door, as the back one was still mysteriously locked. So locked that even the teacher nor his strange son could unlock it. Jackal trying various lock picking methods that all came up dud.

Emily thanked Zane with a hug, a warm one. Before reluctantly pulling herself away from her purple jumpered friend and leaving in a hurry. Zane making sure to keep his face as blank as possible untill she was gone. Then which it soured slightly, mostly at a memory but also at the fact his girlfriend was now gone.

Earlier today, while the meetings were still going.

"Dibs not!"

"...Fine!" Lizzy had snapped at them, the cheerleader then lazily wandered over to the door and attempted to open it. Of course, that wouldn't happen. Locked, and even when Lizzy unlocked it. The doors system settings instantly switched back to the locked option. Barring the hologram Bethany from accessing the class and making Lizzy mock apologise at it. The fake student then walking away from the door and leaving the class alone, making sure to shoot Zane a frown as she did.

Back in the present, Zane sighed. Extending his hand and flicking in a complex manner, fingers spread wide and projecting a white symbol into the air just in front of them. The same glyph manifested onto the small screen next to the door, said screen being how one would access the internal systems of that particular door. And barely a second later, it was gone. The door opening with a sigh of its own and letting the boy stalk out of it, but not before he caught a Robo Roach with his power.

Spinning the small mechanical replacement for the usual bug, those of which had died out alone with the core despite their apparent hardiness. Zane caught it in his left hand, the bug turning around slowly to look at it's captor. What it saw was not exactly a good sign for its wellbeing, the kid giving it a once over. One of his white eyes now replaced with the triangular symbol that would now dominate the bug as well.

Zane dropped it, then left. Leaving the bug to chase after him only for the door to close early. Crushing it into the floor, Zane again hiding his hand as to not reveal that he had such a power. Now he simply meandered back to his empty home on the second floor, undisturbed.

By now, Emily had already been home for ten or so minutes. The house empty besides her as both her mother and older sister were preoccupied with something across the colony. Leaving the girl to the well furnished home, alone. Most of the home was done up in a pleasant colour scheme blonde yellow and shades of gray, Kelseys room however. Covered with paper, one whole wall taken up by the stereotypical maze of red string and notes as the temporarily absent girl worked away at some mystery.

All she had asked of Emily was to deliver a note to her room as soon as possible. So Emily did that, the old and browned paper being placed on a table before she left. Probably to either read or binge watch another anime. Although, why her sister had wanted that beyond old missing note from the school's medical room was unknown.
