That was the best night of my life.
I now see what Preston was saying, I really did need to stop being such an introvert. I never thought my first time would be at a house party, let alone with the owner of the house, but you know, life is full of surprises.
What have I concluded from the past 12 hours? That Jace Knox is absolutely amazing, and different from every other guy I've met. I can't even stop myself from lying on his hard chest and looking into his eyes. I almost feel stuck here, but hey I'm not complaining.
Just then a phone started buzzing on the nightstand. I picked up mine to find out it was Preston. Well not just Preston, I had missed calls from him, my mom and dad, and even Becca.
"Fuck." I muttered.
I quietly got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to answer his call.
I put the phone up to my ear, "Poppy where the hell are you? You said you were getting your own ride home and you never showed. Mom and dad are scared shitless."
"I'm sorry Preston, I stayed the night here but I'll get an uber ASAP and get home. Tell mom and dad I'm sorry too," I pleaded.
I heard a small gasp, "Wait you stayed there with a guy? Ugh never mind I don't want to hear about your sex life. I'll cover for you, they already think you're at Becca's."
I grin knowing we'll always have each other's backs, "Thank you so much Preston, I'll be home soon."
I hung up and tip-toed back over to the bed where Jace was still sound asleep. Hmm he must not be a morning person. I really didn't want to wake him, but I had to leave right now. I thought about my options and decided to put my number in his phone, then he has a way to contact me.
I grabbed his phone from the night stand and sighed with relief when I realized it didn't have a passcode. I typed my number in and saved my contact as "Popsicle", because unlike others, I remember everything when I'm drunk.
My once pretty white dress was still stained with beer, so instead I just put on Jace's shirt again. He wouldn't mind, right? I could just get it back to him later.
I gathered my dress and my shoes and headed outside to wait for an Uber. It said it would be about 10 minutes but that didn't bother me, it was a nice day out. I sat down on the front porch still waiting when a speeding car pulled up.
I stood up thinking that it might be my Uber when a frantic woman jumped out of the door and started jogging up to the house.
"Oh my god what has he done now?" She wailed.
Well this was awkward, she was most likely Jace's aunt since he said his mom and dad were never really around.
She walked over to me with her hands on her hips, "Who are you? Another one of Jace's hookups?"
I didn't really know what to say, so I eventually muttered, "Don't be mad at him, your nephews a really good guy."
She ruffled her hair, "Fuck me my sister is gonna kill me, and him for that matter."
After taking a deep breath, Jace's aunt turned back to me, "I'm sorry sweetie, I just can't do this anymore, Jace I mean. Do you need a ride home? He probably won't get up to give you a ride."
"No I'm okay, thank you though. I have an Uber coming." I told her.
I heard more tires and prayed it was my Uber. If Jace's parents came home too I would be in for a treat.
Thankfully it actually was my Uber and I embarrassingly climbed inside as his Aunt Celia started picking up the red solo cups in the yard.
As my Uber drove away I thought about what she said.
