Yuri awoke to Juru yelling at the top of her voice.
She seemed to be held down by something, as she couldn't move her limbs at all. They felt weak and paralysed. She felt cold metal touching her arm. Slowly, she opened her eyes.
The first things she saw were the Venators.
They were iconic throughout Deadline for being the 'patrol'. Their job was to roam through the streets at night to ensure safety of the citizens, and were the elite group of people who came from the Domes to 'risk' life in Deadline. Yuri found it a little amusing that they thought Deadline was the most dangerous thing, yet she was living here perfectly happy.
The Venators were covered head to toe with golden metal plating. They looked like robotic mech machines, and they certainly had the powers of one. Guns, cyber-swords - an entire arsenal of weapons at their disposal. The most unique point about the Venators' appearance was that one half of the suit was more densely plated than the other. Their visors, therefore, was entirely on the right side of their faces, the lighter part, and none on the left part. This, however, didn't seem to hinder the Venators' pinpoint accuracy.
"W-What's happening..." Yuri managed to stutter, startled by the Venators' arrival.
One of the Venators turned to look at her. "We are taking you. By the orders of Mikhail South." Their voices were almost metallic, and every word seemed to punch into her.
"DON'T YOU DARE TAKE HER!" Juru roared. She was surrounded by a group of Venators who were holding her back. This was the angriest Yuri had ever seen Juru, who looked like a wild animal about to make a kill, and it made her even more frightened of the situation.
"I am afraid that is not possible. We cannot defy orders," another Venator replied. "Page 14, Statement C: Emergency decrees are to be followed without question." He - or, at least, the Venator sounded male - grabbed one of Yuri's arms. Then, a second Venator took hold of the other, and lifted Yuri, immune to her struggling.
"Let go of me!" she cried desperately, flailing her legs around. Juru tried to take action again, but the Venators had already covered her mouth and pinned her to the floor.
"She will not come quietly," the Venator holding Yuri said in annoyance. He nodded at his comrade. "Silence her."
All Yuri saw was a long, thin needle that sped towards her, and sank into her flesh. It wasn't painful - a small tingle that raised all the hairs on her skin, then a strange, relaxing sensation. Her eyelid felt heavy, and her muscles went to sleep again. The last thing she saw was that needle, glinting malevolently, protruding from her arm, before she closed her eyes, and plunged her world into darkness.

Yuri awoke to a white room.
White walls, white ceiling, white floor...everything was white. The only other colours in this room were Yuri and her shadow. It was so monotonous that Yuri started to think in intricate detail.
The room was relatively small, about 10 metres long, 5 metres wide, and 3 metres tall. It was bare, completely bare, with no furnishing whatsoever.
"Yuri."
Yuri jumped in fright from the sudden voice. It was like a Venator's, only much deeper, and seemed to be coming from a speaker. Where that was, she didn't know.
"Gender: Female. Age: Eleven years. Place of Birth: Unknown."
"What do you want from me?" Yuri asked.
"Possible Candidate for the Third Eye Project. Assigning tag: F11XYURI."
"Answer my question." Yuri tried to make her voice sound steady and determined, but it trembled a little.
