13. BETRAYAL

GEMINI POV

I was walking around the living room, waiting for Phuwin's car. It was already midnight and I couldn't just go to sleep. Suddenly I heard the faint sound of a car arriving.

Minutes later, Phuwin walked in.. alone.

"Where's Fourth?" Phuwin didn't answer me. "I asked a question!" I was getting impatient.

"Home." He finally answered and I felt my heart drop.

"What do you mean home?" I lowered my voice.

"Fourth asked me if I could take him back to his home."

"No NO! YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" I couldn't hold myself anymore.

"Yes I can and I did!" Phuwin yelled back. "And it's your fault. Fourth said he'll send whatever info he got from Mark's phone by morning." He walked away.

I couldn't help but just stand there and blame myself. I don't know when I got to attached to him but one thing I knew for sure was I needed him back.

It was morning already and I felt drained. I went straight into my office room and locked the doors. I opened my laptop and I saw an email from Fourth.

My heart jumped. I quickly opened the email and saw that Fourth has sent me the data from Mark's phone and with a ending note:

'I did what you asked me to do I'll cut off connections with you.'

My felt a pang in my chest and my balled up my fists. Is this over? I thought to myself.

Later on the day, there was a knock on the office door.

"Not now." I was not in the mood talk.

"Sir it's urgent." A voice spoke.

I groaned in annoyance. "Come in."

One of my men walked in, but he seemed scared and stressed about something.

"What is it?"

"Uh.. sir last night.." he was stuttering.

"Stop stuttering and tell me!"

"Last night when we were.. taking Khun Mark to your base, our van was.. attacked." He finally said. "We're so sorry!" He bowed down.

My movements froze. He escaped..again. There were too many thoughts rushing through my mind.

"Get out."

"Wha-"

"I said get out!" I yelled and he immediately went out the door.

I tried to contact Fourth. Even though he said not to. Mark has escaped again. And he's not safe. Fuck this is all my fault.

Just like that a few days turned into months and when Fourth said  he'll cut off connections, he meant it. He also returned the phone he used to steal the data, the phone which I used to contact him. Fourth just.. disappeared.

I was in my office again, lost in my own thoughts, when someone came in.

"HEY!- awh- what's up with the vibe here?" Pond said almost screaming.

I frowned a little at the sudden barge in.

"You do not seem happy to see me. I feel so hurt-" he dramatically acted like he was hurt.

"Why are you here?" I finally spoke.

"Why? Cause I missed you." He said acting sad. "Did my bestfriend not miss me? I was literally gone for 2 months."

"Please go back."

"Okay whatever." He rolled his eyes. But suddenly he got excited again. "Oh! Where is Fourth? Haven't seen him on my way here-" he said looking around as if I was hiding Fourth in my office.

My heart clenched again. The hollow feeling and the dread and guilt that I was the one who caused him pain. Mark dated him because he wanted revenge from me. He felt betrayed and used because of the things I said. He had to leave because of my selfishness.

"Hello? Earth to Gemini? Are you still in the room with us?" Pond said waving his palm infront of my face.

"He left."

"Wait what?" Pond was shocked.

"He left and it was my fault." I said face palming myself.

"Gemini what happened actually? What do you mean it was all your fault?" He said, furrowing his eyebrows.

After I explained things to him. I also told him about Mark escaping just the day after. But Pond just sat there and said nothing, like he was thinking something to himself.

"Gemini.. I have a question.." Pond said like he was carefully choosing his next words.

"What?" I asked him but I could see the concern and doubt in his eyes. "What happened Pond?" I asked impatiently.

"So.. don't freak out but- you know how Mark told Fourth your original plan? Ps I hate you for that. How could you even think about something like this-" Pond said seriously, for the first time in his life.

"Pond." I glared at him.

"Okay yes so, Gemini.. how did Mark know what you had planned for Fourth?" Pond said and my body stiffened. He's right.. how did Mark know?

I just stared him blankly while realization hit me. And wait so that means..

"Gemini?" Pond called my name.

"It was Phuwin.." I said, more to myself.

"What?" His eyes widened. "What do you mean? How are you sure?"

"The only person who knew about the plan, of me finishing off Fourth after the mission, my whereabouts, specially Fourth's- fuck." I cursed after it all became clear to me.

"Gemini what ar- hey! Where are you going?!" Pond called after me.

I was running, out of the living room, all the way to my car. I couldn't help but notice that Phuwin was nowhere in the house. And I haven't seen him at all lately.

I got inside the car and started the engine.

I need to find Fourth.
