Laughs erupted from the VIP table me and Jude were seated at. The alcohol seemed to make everything funny, and I couldn't help but giggle at just about nothing as Jude's arm was situated around my waist.
"You wanna dance?" He asked, lifting my chin up with his hand. His pupils were dilated as they looked into mine. My hand gripped his bicep as my head felt fuzzy.
"Sure." I smiled, grabbing his hand as we headed towards the dance floor. My eyes glanced at the tables and I noticed Hector sitting with the rest of the boys and Esme. It seemed as if Esme kept leaning his way, but I could feel Hectors eyes on me. Deciding to ignore it, I turned back to look at Jude.
He was devilishly handsome, and his hands felt good. But I couldn't help but keep him in the back of my mind, closing my eyes as I danced with Jude to imagine myself with him instead. I felt something pull me from behind and to my surprise I saw that it was Marc.
"Cmon, time to get back to the group."
"Don't tell me what to do Marc, we're just dancing." I replied. Marc glared at me, giving me a look that said enough about his annoyance with the current situation. I sighed, giving in. I turned back to Jude, leaning in to whisper in his ear.
"I'm sorry, I have to go."
"It's fine. I'll be seeing you." He told me, handing me a small paper note he had hidden in his pocket.
As I returned to the table with Marc, I could feel the stares of everybody.
"So, how was it?" Anita asked, giggling out of excitement. I blushed, but I felt the awful glare of Hector. He must've really hated that I interacted with a Madrid player. Gosh, as if he doesn't hate me enough now.
"It was fun.""What are you hiding in your hand?" Maria gestured to my hands, sitting on Marcs lap. I unfolded the paper to find a number; Jude must've given me his number. I turned the paper around, showing them its contents.
"Oh my god, He's totally into you!" Isabella screamed, the loud music taking over the sound. I laughed. I wasn't that interested in the player, but if felt good to receive such good attention from such a popular football player.
"He plays for Madrid, you shouldn't even have spoken to him." Hector announced, gaining my attention. I scowled.
"It was only a little fun, besides I'm allowed to be friends with whom ever I want.""So now you're friends with people so easily?" He backfired, clearly referring to the fact that I made it clear we weren't friends, yet I've just called Jude one. Yikes.
"I've learned from the best, haven't I?" I don't know what compelled me to say that, and what made it worse was the obvious glance Hector directed towards Esme before looking back at me, only to give me an "are you serious?" look. I felt slightly ashamed, but he wasn't going to ruin my night.
"Whatever, girls let's go dance." I called out, grabbing Isabella and Anita, and not bothering to grab Maria who was not on top of Marc. I glanced one final time at Hector, seeing him give me quizzical look. I had a feeling this wasn't going to be the last time I heard about this.

Later the same night I found myself situated at the bar. Esme and a few of the boys had left, and Isabella and Anita were left on the dance floor. I on the other hand went for a break. I felt the chair beside me become occupied and I looked up to see Hector. I gulped, knowing that whatever conversation was now about to be held was not going to be a smooth sailing one.
"What did you mean by 'learned from the best'?" Hector asked, eyebrows furrowed with a serious look on his face. I almost gasped at his bluntness but composed myself.
"Just that you seem to have a easy time making friends."
"That's not all you meant is it?" He added, and I glared at him.
"What are you referring to?"
"I'm referring to the fact that you obviously meant Esme."
"Why would I do that?" I broke eye contact, instead directing my glare towards the glass in my hand.
"Because it might seem as if we're close when we're not, and that I'm interested in becoming her.... friend, when I'm not. But I have to say that I do find it weird that you're so close to Jude after a single night and can't even find it in yourself to call us friends." He said. I almost dropped my glass at his abruptness.
"I- I don't know what I meant." I said, looking at him. I could tell I had hurt him when I said that we weren't friends. It was unfair."I didn't mean it, I suppose. I don't know. It feels to tense, and now Esme seems to be your friend and I- ugh." I've said too much. Hector only nodded, as if he was trying to decode my actions. Could he tell how nervous I was, or that I really had no clue what I was talking about?
"Me and her are just acquaintances. I know it might be tense, but can't we at least be-" He groaned, clenching his fist. He quickly left, leaving me dumbfounded. I saw him leave the party, clearly distressed.
