Chapter 38

Hey loves!!!! How have you been? Sorry for the slow updates😪 I have been feeling unmotivated to write lately so I'm kinda forcing myself to even do this now. Let's hope this chapter comes out well from my head 😂

                      ~Adrianna's pov~

"Your father kidnapped me"

    A deep sigh escapes from my mouth immediately I drop the bomb. I raise up my head to look at Dante who had halted in his tracks.

    He slowly turns around with widened eyes and a horrified look ok his face. I really wish I could deny it and just pretend it didn't happen. His face breaks my heart so much, it hurts.

    "What did you just say?" His voice comes out heavy.
   "Your father kidnapped me. I recognized his face the minute I saw him that's why I ran away". His face flashes in front of my eyes again and I shut them in an attempt to push the image to the back of my mind.

    He abruptly turns around to face me and I almost step back in surprise.
  "Are you sure?". He says in a deadly calm tone. Unable to look at him, I nod in response. Before I can say anything more, I hear the door slam shut.

   I hear footsteps behind me and I'm immediately aware of my family behind me. Lily comes to my front and takes my hand in hers.

     Tears start to stream down my face once again and I start feeling weak.
   "I feel really tired Lily". I say in a whisper-like voice. She makes a move to hug me but before I can wrap my arms around here, darkness envelopes me with only one question in my mind now.

What happens now?

                    ~Unknown pov~

The mahogany door closes shut as a man in suit walks in.

    "Have you checked it out?" A man who was lurking in the shadows by the glass windows of his office questions him.

   "Yes boss. Your suspicions were correct".

   "Hmmm. That's not totally good or bad news then. I can make good use of this".

   "What can we do sir?"

  "She's not dead yet right?"

    "Yes sir. But barely"

  "Good. Give her more food. Just enough to keep her alive for now. I have a plan in mind then we will finally get rid of all of them"

   "Yes sir"

A malicious smile takes over his face happy about recent developments in his plan.

                  ~Adrianna's pov~

It's been a whole week since I saw him. A week since I heard from him. A week since he came to school.

    Everyone has been walking around me in eggshells and it's only Lily that is even behaving the least bit normal.

   On top of it all, with every passing day, I am getting weaker, more aggressive, irritated and tired. I'm still 6 months along but it feels like I am ready to poop these babies out for real.

  I have been going to school all week to avoid questions of not being fine from my brothers. I have been seeing Luca though because I don't want to play with the health of my babies.

   So far it's only the decreasing amount of chemicals in my body that is affecting me badly. Let's hope Luca can recreate that forsaken thing before my due date.

    I just got out of geography class which is the second to the last period of the day actually.
   But I  just really have to use the toilet. My bladder had been disturbing throughout the class but believe it or not, I was trying to not draw attention to myself by asking for permission to go out. I swear this pregnancy has made me have feelings.

     I feel like someone has been following me all day though. But everytime I turn back, there's nobody there. Shrugging the feeling off again, I enter the ladies.

    After finishing my business, I hear one of the stall doors close. I pay no heed to it because I conclude that it's probably another girl.

   I stop in my tracks when I look up and see a man in the mirror with a gun pointing to my head.

  "Don't do anything or Lily will suffer the consequences. Come with me quietly and I'll pull my men back". My initial courage flees once he brings up Lily's name.

   "If you touch a hair on her head..." I surprisingly say firmly.

   "Don't worry. As long as you do what you are supposed to, she will be safe". He brings out a phone and turns it to me.

   It's a video of two guys talking and laughing with Lily. It looks like they are just flirting until you see the guns in their hands.

  "Any wrong move and she dies. Am I clear?"

   "What should I do?"

  "Go to the parking lot. A white car is right outside. Someone is waiting for you just enter the car.  Don't try any tricks because I have men all over the lot and I'm still watching you. If I can enter the toilet without anyone knowing, trust me I can do anything to you too". Deciding that I have no other choice, I just drop my elastic bracelet on the ground hoping someone notices it soon.

    Once I reached the main door of the school, I dropped the other bracelet and prayed that the man does not see it.

   The white car is in front of me in no time and I just pray that Lily gets the hint before it's too late.

I have never felt so helpless but I have to do this for her and my children.
