Growing up, I was immersed in the rich tapestry of Indian mythology, listening to countless speeches and stories from my father. It was these experiences that sparked my inspiration to retell the "Kamba Ramayanam" as the "RAMAYANA" series for modern readers.

In crafting this retelling, I made the conscious decision to omit the complex poetry of the original epic, instead opting for a more accessible storytelling format with dialogue and vivid descriptions. My aim was to create a narrative that captivates readers with its beauty while remaining faithful to the essence of the original tale.

Dividing the epic into seven books was a practical choice, allowing me to condense each "kandam (section)" into manageable segments without compromising on depth or detail. My hope is that this approach will appeal to readers whose attention spans may be shorter in today's fast-paced world.

Each book in this series presents the timeless stories of the Ramayana in a manner that is easy to understand and enjoy. Through these tales, I seek to impart the valuable lessons and moral teachings found in ancient epics, offering readers a glimpse into a way of life that transcends the passage of time.

I am immensely grateful to @sugararmy07 for her incredible talent in creating the captivating book covers through her "Book Cover Shop!!" that brings this series to life. Her work has truly elevated the presentation of these stories.

It's important to note that while this retelling is my own adaptation of the "Kamba Ramayanam," the original poetry was penned by the esteemed Tamil Poet Kamban. Additionally, I want to emphasise that this series is rooted in Hindu mythology and is not intended to cause offence to anyone.

Finally, I am excited about the possibility of continuing this journey with future projects, including a retelling of the "Mahabharata" if these seven books are well-received by readers.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure into the world of ancient epics. I hope you find as much joy in reading these stories as I did in retelling them.

Warm regards,

Amerlin
